You people have been posting this nonsense online, claiming that Ajayi Crowther wrote a book. Anyone can design and print this out in minutes

Show us pages of Ajayi Crowthers book, not a page claiming he wrote a book.

Not such book exists because Ajayi Crowther could not have written a book in a language he never spoke

Denial. You are still in the first of the seven stages of grief. You will come around eventually.

The same Ajayi Crowther that was a fulani slave when Igbos were already trading oil palm with the British at Onitsha? Lol

It's good you are quoting history. But why quote some parts and ignore other parts of history?

Let's just say the man's story was like that of Joseph in the Bible. Joseph was sold into slavery but later became a prime minister. Ajayi Crowther was sold into into slavery too but later a major positive influence on the history of Nigeria. He taught your father's how to read and write. He wrote the first book in your language.

You igbos need to appreciate him.

Lol
Ever heard of Jaja of Opobo (1821-1891)?

The richest man in the entire British-Nigeria, so rich and powerful that he was taxing British traders, enrolled his children in UK schools and employed British teachers in his Opobo school

He was Nigeria's first exporter, shipping palm oil directly to the UK from here. The British crown had to personally assaasinate him.

No Afonjah till date matches him.

There was nobody like that in the whole of igboland. You might need to argue this with Opobo people.

Why are you lying?

Ogbono soup is leaf-based? Ofe nsala is leave based? Ofe akwu is leaf-based?

Check the way Ogbono and (Igbo-made) Egusi soups are made. They are quite similar. Can you compare your own version to how any other Yoruba soups are made?

Ogbono is another borrowed soup by igbos.

Sorry Bro. It's history dated back to 1800s. I bet your great grandpa wasn't even born then. It is funny you assumed he didn't speak Igbo but wrote a book in the same igbo language. I try to imagine how many foreign languages he spoke let alone local. Mind you, lukumi Yoruba has historical connections to Anioma/Delta. Does that give you a clue now?

Besides, someone can even learn and speak a new language in less than 2 years especially when it is necessary. I once met a Yoruba man that speaks up to 7 languages including Igbo. So what's so strange about igbo language that non-igbos can't speak then? Mind you, in as much as fact you don't have another historical book/facts that states otherwise, then Ajayi Crowther wrote the first igbo book. Question of if he could speak Igbo is low IQ.

OfoIgbo you must not run away because you're caught red-handed

You must tell us the etymology of Egusi in Igbo else you're lying.

Your silence agreed to what has been proved already.

You've been challenged OfoIgbo
OfoIgbo:

I would have understood EWEDUDU, You still haven't satisfactorily explained EWEDU.

Ugu is an Igbo vegetable. It is also a major ingredient of Egwusi soup. What is Ugu called in Yoruba, and what is the etymology of the Yoruba word for Ugu?

What glaring evidence? Even if this was a book Ajayi Crowther wrote, it is no more than a translation. All it means is that Ajayi Crowther called an Igbo translator, asked him what something mean, and wrote it down. And he wrote it down in such bad Igno that it is useless to anyone

A translation is not writting a book, anyone can do it

The words Igbo borrowed are Ashewo and Agbero cos they are Yoruba Inventions

Is the word kanda not from hausa?

He insulted Tinubu heavily before 2023, he will never to insult Ibos even higher to prove to Tinubu he deserves an appointment..

He is working so hard, I wonder he thinks that anybody will believe that his 'research' about Igbo are balanced without bias with the level of anger and dislikes he has against them for political reasons.. grin cheesy

Google this or go and ask your father Igbo people are Ata. Of Igala slaves till the recently time before colonization.

The majority of the claimed Igbo people in Enugu and Ebonyi State are originated from Igala and other northern parts of Nigeria, and they are not the true Igbo people.

To this day, nobody has seen the so called book 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Another thing is that Ajayi Crowther was not an Olukumi man, he was an Oyo man

Perhaps you will go back and unwrite history. Your first Ibo Bible was written by Ajayi Crowther. There was no civilization in Ibo territory until Christian missionaries arrived. ....

During Awolowo campaigns for presidential position in 1965 and 1979, Awolowo shared clotures in your region to cover people's makes. Some Ibo people were primtive at the time, particularly in what is now Abia State.

Oh really? Well times have since changed. There is Onitsha, Nnewi and Aba. They have never been capital of anywhere, wether federal or state. If they give you 200 years, you will not be able to show anywhere in your zone that was never capital of anywhere, that is on their level

They provided evidence of said book.

You still insisted it's a mere translation.

Even Yoruba people know that the word "Egusi" doesn't originate from them. There's about three different words (according to the dictionary shown here) they use for "melon" but the Igbo only have one.

If this guy had any background in linguistics then he would know what that means.
The Yorubas have more than 3 different names for God. How about that for linguistics?
