The $5K a year is the Canada child benefit for a family of 4 with family income of $140K irrespective of the province they reside. One child is less than 6 and the other is between 6 and 12. The amount changes with age.

All marriage registries certificate accross the country are valid. You don't need to travel Ikoyi. Use your local govt.

GST is totally gone once the family adjusted net income is more than 65K for couple with 2 children. It is a situation where the government said you are too rich for them to help you, but you are too poor to give up government help.

True, most managers do not earn 200k. Range is usually between 80-160k. Manager na just tag. Though some senior senior managers may get big bonuses and extra cash from profit sharing taking their total earnings above the 200k mark. I work in the health sector and we have Nigerian doctors, nurses earning 200k-500k. 99% of them immigrated 15-30years ago.....make new immigrant chasing 6figures no kill themselves o. 100k is 68k at the end of the year 50k is 37k. 50k may get around 6-10k from the govt depending on family size. Taking total earning to 47k. 100k gets nothing..

Generally, I have noticed that earnings or even financial independence takes years to attain. The advent of social media made it look so easy. Tech too did not help matters.

I am curious, for Canada, what are the potential entrepreneurial opportunities (no matter how crude) for first generation immigrants to fast-track one's entry into financial comfort?

I believe they should accept once it is from your legal state Governemnt. I didn’t get married in Lagos talk less of Ikoyi, I got married in my local government council. Go and ask and follow their procedures to get the proper certificates.

Landed in CA about 6 months ago in March as PR. Its been a long ride , finding a good job in my field (Data ) and finally settling in. I got my first job offer in June, resumed in July, and then another one I started in August. People say that was fast. lol. It was a long and stressful period but I can say that coming to Canada is not vibes. Preparation and resilience is important.

Did mine last December. I followed the instructions on the High Commission’s website and had no issues. New port was sent to me in less than 3 weeks.

Hi fam,please can someone anyone put me through on how to navigate stuff here in canada...so i came here about 6 months ago,and i have been job hunting ,nothing at all....i was in tech in nigeria and i havent been able to get anything.....can someone just help me or give me tips...now im considering nursing now,my background is microbiology but i graduated with a 3rd due to some circumstances,,,that was why i delved into tech in the first palce,now i have been unabke to find a job,can anyone give me advice or just connect me to some one well versed in this topic..thanks a lot
