These US V.O's are just wicked. Sharing refusals like water today. How would you say you can't believe that a Company in Nigeria would want to sponsor a student VISA because of the unstable FX.

Hi guys,

My pre-approval request for the Lagos embassy has just been approved after 5 weeks of delay. But when I tried to proceed to book a visa appointment, the only available options are dates for scheduling document drop-offs with OIS. I assume this is because I have an active visa and am simply seeking a renewal. I need someone's assistance navigating this process to secure an interview date, as I am opting for an in-person interview to attend with my dependent (F2), who has previously been denied twice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Different strokes for different folks. Hope you found a solution.

Please for the interview waiver questions , can you the response you gave to the question about having annotation on the visa and if the annotation was waiver, blanket, clearance or other? I chose 'other' because what I have on my visa where the annotation should be is just "PA" followed by my spouse's name and school. I suspect that's the question that made the system route me to consular appointment and not interview waiver.

Honestly? I paid again and chose Abuja, which was approved in 2 days. You can select lagos or abuja after you the pre approval stage. Did you try sending the emails that are mentioned in the links from the thread?

Lagos - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdMSMzJmoYVaxf-obif6_AaMIT4fbxpIvLEkPW84ISGSwSkIg/viewform
Abuja - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc1wt8xb3LubFFSlvlLUNi3HOnIcZxquaZyClg3Y3HxlSWbXQ/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0

For disclosure, I did not need to use them to get pre-approved.

Okay thanks. I’ve sent an email

Is it a red flag to tell the VO that you want to take unpaid internships during your break as part of your study plan if asked.

So sorry darling, lt was Abuja right? I went visiting there and saw all sorts with my eyes. Tears fell from eyes, l deeply felt so sorry for Nigerians. Smart ,brilliant ,hardworking, industrious, and kind and Nigerians. You can try other countries. If its a study visa let me know so l can assist you, OK.
So sorry for your experience.

Oh l just looked again, and saw u applied for a study visa. Lets try other countries .I really want to help you, reply me if you like.
Its Lagos o. These people just dey collect Nigerians money. They are milking money off Nigerians with less than 3 percent daily approvals for Non-Immigrant Visas.

Quick question - Do I need to schedule an appointment (like... pick a date) before I can start a new application for my dependent?
PS: My preapproval request has been approved.

From what I understand from a friend. He was told he can’t schedule both himself and wife on the same profile. So he booked same date and time with their respective profiles and intend to attend together. He opted for in-person because of his wife even thou he qualified for interview waiver. Hope this helps!

V.Os are not wicked. They are doing their jobs which they are trained to do. Imagine police dogs (animals for that matter) at the airports and borders , American government trained them to sniff out cocaine and other drug matters. Now , how do you think a human intelligence will fail to detect a possible visa fraud or a dishonest applicant?
You can be real and genuine but the story of my employer is sponsoring me is now the new song majority of F1 visa applicants are singing.

How many years have you worked to facilitate your employer to want to spend millions of naira on you ? What is your position at work ? Are you the only qualified person ? Do you have a special skill your employer want you to transmit into other staffs ? Etc

As for me. I trust the VOs 7 times out of 10. Go and restrategise.
You that is talking show me your approved VISA that you got at first attempt. All the questions you asked were properly answered including stating my employer makes a revenue of 1.3 billion naira monthly. This VO was just over herself. The guy before me was as genuine as any human on earth could be. But he got rejected. Even people in their 70's going on visits got rejected. They don't trust Nigerians and its in their mindset.

I feel your pain but don’t dwell too much on it. 90% of time, VOs don’t approve employer sponsored (I stand to be corrected with facts!). I would advise you try getting any funding or look into another school that offer funding. Going back with employer sponsor story won’t fly again. Sorry about your refusal but don’t give up.

I don't need visa to be logical or to know the American visa policy, and show me your own is the reason why some people are being scammed. Many people with us visa does not know how to fill ds 160 ,so it is not about show me Ur visa.

You claimed your employer make 1.3 billion verbally so the vo did not believe you otherwise she would have placed you on 221G and ask you to provide proof. Anyone can say my employer makes billion.

The guy that was genuine was he your relative ? Are you a magician or god to be able to proof his genuinty absolutely? Common let us be honest with ourselves.

Visa officers does not trust and believe the stories of those you claimed in the 70s. Someone can be in the 70s and want to go to US for hiding motive.

To cap it. They trust Nigerians but the officer who interviewed you did not trust you. Many people got visa today after you left 🥸 they are Nigerians like you. Go and reapply with calculated reasonings.
Mr English na you sabi . Which many? You must be disillusioned. Come reapply for me na. I.T.K.

One thing I noticed during my interview was that they actively look for any inconsistencies in your answers. If they find one, they may use it as a reason to reject your application.

There was one woman that said she was going for omugwo and they refused her, I felt for her. Maybe she should have just said she was going to visit her kids and grand kids ( I stand to be corrected though). Also an old man on wheel chair was refused, I felt so sad for him.

For those who interviewed in Abuja, there was one woman who wouldn’t even look at applicants, and she rejected everyone she interviewed while I was there. But there was another woman, a Black woman, who was very calm and attentive; she really listened. Another observation I made is that sometimes they may not realize you gave birth in the U.S. unless you mention it — at least, that was my experience.

So sorry dear. Yes l know, these period USA don't give visas as they formerly do. But they will tell Nigerians to keep applying, Nigerians should feel free to apply ,to continue making money from Nigerians.

Let me tell you a secret, USA has a quota on how they issue visas to annually.

So what do you want now? I will advise you to try other countries. There are many countries that are very good.I'm here to help if u want. I'm not all about money, but to see those who wants to leave the country, succeed. Nigerian youths are wasting.
Thank you. I would consider other countries.

I am curious about what exactly makes you think you are not being qualified for interview waiver here. After answering the questions, did you or did you not receive a prompt telling you that you may be qualified for the interview waiver and asked if you wished to proceed via that route or not (or something like that) before getting to this "consular appointment" page?

If you did and you chose to go through that route, why don't you go ahead and pick an appointment date so you can proceed to drop off documents for your VISA renewal application? Or am I missing something?

By the way, I also chose "other" under annotation and I picked an appointment date to drop off documents eventually after that point before being able to the interview waiver confirmation letter.

Hi guys, please what do you think about entering remote work one has done in the past 3 years in DS-160? I stopped working remotely in March of this year tho. Does it raise any red flags if I list remote work, or is there a way you can advise going about this?

Hello all. I am trying to renew my F1 visa on the appointment website and I am seeing this. Does this mean I have 2 s since they did the migration from the previous platform?

Thank you for sharing your opionion on the matter. I am actually resolved to doing an in-person interview. What I am currently figuring out is how to go about it. I raised a ticket concerning it already but the explanation they gave wasn't clear enough.

Gretmang:

@Demolaxzy, don’t listen to this advise. There’s no way her performance gonna impact your visa renewal outcome. If you’re a continuing F-1 student, there’s no way the embassy is gonna jeopardise your return back to ur studies —it doesn’t happen. In a worst case scenario, they’re gonna renew your visa and deny her again if the VO feels they can’t give her a visa. I understand why you’d want to appear with her — two of my friends who had their wife’s F-2 denied two times each, booked a flight back and attended with their F-2, they were given. But sometimes they can still deny your F-2 even when you appear appear with them.

Now, I’m definitely certain you can resort to a physical interview even when you’re qualified for a waiver…what I’m not sure yet is if you can go with your IW letter in place of appointment confirmation letter. You can confirm from the embassy. All in all, the embassy is going to attend to you whether u choose the IW or you decided to go for the physical interview.

That of my son got approved today too. About five hours after we sent the mail this morning. I have been trying to trace the person that gave that advice to say thank you. Awaiting approval for Expedited action.

Someone helped me to pay my visa application fee using a credit card and it is the person's name that is appearing on the receipt, is this going to be an issue? I am now in preapproval request stage though.
