Please, this is urgent. I scheduled a visa interview for Lagos and the date was Feb 2025. When I migrated to the new AVITS platform the date there became October 29, 2024 with the location as Abuja and it showed me that I have 2 reschedule(s) available. This changed on its own back to Lagos for October 29,2024. So same date but different location. It was like that for three weeks and my interview is on Tuesday. I logged in now and saw that it changed again to Abuja October 29, 2024 and now 3 reschedule (s) available. I didn’t do anything on it and everything was changing on its own. I have opened a ticket for this and nothing has been done. I don’t even know what to do or where the interview is happening.

Also, curious to know if anyone has experienced this or complained about it?

Hi. I did IW last year and traveled to Canada for a conference 2 months ago. Back in the U.S and there was no issue. At least 10 of my friends currently in the U.S have done the same. One of them just got back from Naija last week. We are all PhD students. Most recent approval was in August. It took 1 month tho. However, I also have a friend whose visa was not approved through the waiver. They told her to appear in person like your friend. Her husband was the one who dropped off her port in Abuja. Luckily for her, they returned the port to DHL so he just picked it up from there. It was blank.

First, that the Amentum reference number on the payment receipt in your email matches the one you entered during the payment process. If you made the payment online or through a bank deposit, ensure the reference number is correct. For online payments, you should have received a confirmation email double-check that the reference numbers match. Also, enter the date the payment was made. If it was an online transaction, you can check your bank statement for the reference number as well.

Guys I scheduled for a visa since October 2023 and I was given January 2025 as appointment date. I have not checked back to the site again since then .
Now I just tried to but I can’t seem to, are there any new changes I should be aware of ?

Which location did you choose in your form? Print everything and go to the location you selected from day one.

Its been 2 week since my visa was issused, i dont have any email and i when i check the OIS document deliery it says it is not yet ready.

I checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and it says "ISSUED". Case Last Updated: 30-Sep-2024

I initially choose Port Harcourt for delivery but I went there and they are not yet ready for pickup. i have updated my AVITS document delivery to Lagos since i am planning a trip next week.

i have also created an AVITS ticket. I am thinking about sending an email to the Abuja Embassy where i had my interview.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any tips?

I hope you’re well. I’m seeking some guidance regarding the visa process. A family member has an appointment for dropbox submission through the USTravelDocs platform, but I recently found out there’s also an OIS platform for dropbox submissions.

Do you know how long it usually takes to receive a response for dropbox applications submitted via OIS? Alternatively, would it be better to attend an interview instead? When my mom went to Walter Carrington for dropbox, she ended up being interviewed, which was beneficial as her visa was issued within two days and ready for pickup at the OIS location.

From what I’ve read, it seems many applicants haven’t yet received responses to their dropbox applications through OIS, so I’m a bit uncertain. I need my family’s in the U.S. at this time, so I’m trying to determine the best route.

Hi, this is quite normal. All you need to do is keep checking and trying in the preferred month you want, and you will definitely get a date.

Wait for 24hrs and recheck your pending appointment.

I dont know if it is pure or not, but her last dropbox was at walter Carrington not DHL as informed by her. Also, she might be mistaken. Anyway, since you have done your drop box, can you be of help. For dropbox, aside the IW letter,
payment confirmation, port,DS-160 confirmation, one port photograph and the OIS letter what is required? Thanks.

For dropbox, all the docs/items the US embassy needs/asked you to bring is stated in the IW appointment letter....i really dont understand why u are fixated on wanting to add extra documents.....

Before the new website update I already had my Ds 160 confirmation done, Updated on my appointments confirmation and printed, but there is a need to change my month inlaw travel date and hence the need to fill another Ds 160.. The challenge i have now is to update the new Ds 160 number on the new portal and everytime I chat customer service up none of them understand this process. Please can someone guide me on how to update my new Ds 160 A- number on the new website

I have a brother who have a friend in US who is a citizen. I was told that this friend of his will be celebrating his birthday and would like to invite few of his people in Nigeria to come celebrate with him. In view of this he promised to send an invite for me to be part of his guest list.

Here are my challenges:

1. Does it work like that? To send an invite to someone base on just birthday party.

2. How relevant is inviting people from Nigeria to US for a party is that will make a VO approve the visa.

3. What are the chances of approval of such Visa.

4. He said the celebrant is giving a list to the embassy containing the people he is inviting and this can increase the chances of getting the visa.

5. The above is just to know if I should take this route serious or I focus on other stuff at hand.

For Lagos, Yes.
It is working now after some glitches.
I picked dates for my wife and 2 kids.
Surprisingly, they had dates for October, November, December and January unlike the old platform were dates are almost a year long
