Why not get the original copy of this certificate from WAEC? It would be good to have this for both the interview and the future. Since you asked, I’d advise you get the original hard copy certificate, especially as I do not see why WAEC wouldn’t give you if you have not collected it already.

The stress in notarising the print out is almost the same as requesting for your original WAEC certificate. Unless the digital certificate has same value as the hard copy? Which if this was the case, you would not need to stress about notarization.

On another note, why are you about to schedule an appointment?? Please schedule your appointment first then ask any questions later.

My friend has not gotten an appointment... He is in and applied for marriage in standesamt.. So they gave him a form and list documents to submit... After which the real process will start.. The documents will be translated to German and submitted with a sum of €1500 (€750 für each Spouse) paid into the the standesamt of deutsch bank after which ur documents will leave for Nigeria to the German embassy and the the 2 years queue for Verification and after it appointment for visa Familie nachzug.. My friend and wife are still waiting... My cousin is still waiting..

You might need this if your profession is a “regulated profession” and if you have internationally recognized professional certificates e.g: ACCA, SHRH etc.

Yes, they are required to come. My wife went with our 2 months old son then. That was December, 2022.

Yes, the port is what you need to book for the interview. After the booking, you write the embassy to merge the documents with that of the parent. The embassy usually immediately gives appointment date to kids depending on the case.

You have to provide all documents in the check list for children. This can be found on the embassy website.

Finally, I think you should be straight in your question so we can answer you completely in one swoop.

I think your parents can do that for you or anyone related to you can go the LG council of your town and request for it in place of your parents.

I would also want to know if your wife require verification? Also, have the ABH ed you; if yes how long did it take?

It has been two months now since my wife’s interview. I have not received any letter from ABH. We do not need verification since I am a researcher. The ABH told me that they have not heard from Lagos consulate. I wonder why it is taking so long.

I think you can get it done at a local court in Nigeria by your Parent living in Nigeria. Just try an get in with a Court in Nigeria and they will guide you.

Hello Everyone! Please would there be an issue at if the Spouses still have different Last names; my Wifes‘s Last name hasnt been changed on the port because it will alter the port number and invariably delay the appointment.
Has anyone had any issue relating to this?

Firstly, no issues if both of you have different last names. Some people do not bother changing last names.

Also, you can actually proceed with the change of last name on the port while waiting for embassy appointments. Just make sure it comes out before the interview date. Then you can go with both the old and new ports to the embassy. , some people have to renew their port due to expiration while waiting for the embassy.

Lastly, I would advice, if you intend that she changes her name later, that she does it now. The bureaucracy and cost of doing it in is alot. Otherwise, she can also continue with her maiden name if you do not mind.

This looks okay, as far as the title of your degree is on Anabin, with the comment that it is equivalent to a German degree. Also your institution is graded H+, you’re good to go.

I’m curious about your job; will you be working as an engineer? There is the possibility that this falls under “regulated professions”. Please research on this, I’m not sure. If this is the case then you need the ZAB evaluation. If this is not your case, then I think the screenshots you shared are okay and the degree being awarded does not have to be directly from your university.

honestly i have been seeing many rejections but no one has created a thread on how he/she appealed through berlin court. And how how long it took.

Using lawyer is ofcourse easier but we know it cost alot of money as well. I guess that what your brother is trying to avoid. This is where having legal insurance is a huge advantage in .

If he has a good reason for not responding on time, I believe the probability of getting a positive response would be quite high. Previously, many who appealed in Nigeria, when the option was valid, got positive responses, I guess the criteria shouldn't be so far from that.

I renewed my post with my new surname before my interview date. By the time of my interview, my old port had even expired. So I took both ports to the embassy. I presented the old one at the gate as that was the one i used to book the appointment. Then i submitted the new one that had my new surname during the interview.

Thank you for your reply. She went for her interview around January/February 2023 ( am not so sure) and it took her husband up to one year to submit the documents requested of him (he had good reasons tho according to his explanations).

Please they want to know if it is the wife that will appeal from Nigeria or the Husband or both?
Is it better to use a Nigerian or German Immigration Lawyer?

Hi all,

My physical appointment for the blue card is tomorrow. I already got my documents approved via the online portal previously. They stated that I don’t need to come along with documents that were already ed, except for original documents like port, University certificate etc.

To be safe, I also obtained the following documents from the checklist on the official website: Letter of motivation, Signed employment contract, Evidence of previous employments, Courier envelope.

Besides the original documents requested, are there some other documents they may ask for that aren’t included in the checklist?
