There's currently one Toyota matrix in my estate in the middle of the road since Sunday morning with a leg pull that the owner must have abandoned due frustration I guess.

I laugh each time I drive by..🤣🤣🤣🤣

pls how many kilometers per litre do you think eod should cover for city drive with ac considering it's 2.4l engine?

Very great car. I currently use EOD and since my purchase, I have never had any leg pull neither have I been stranded. Since I know that the double wishbone that the Honda leg uses is not as reliable as the Maherson found in other vehicles, I give more attention to it by always checking it's condition every month and go for a replacement between 6-8months depending on my vehicle usage and road condition. All the replaced ones are in my toolbox and a very much in good condition as well but I still change them just to ensure I do due diligence.

Also, if your shock, lower/upper arm bushing, engine and gear mount isn't in good condition, it might also impact negatively on your ball t.

The secret to all it for me is to have a very good maintenance culture and attention to details. If you wish to cut corners or you lack maintenance culture, Honda vehicles will deal with you terribly.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your input,

I’m a very careful person paying attention to details won’t be a problem for me.

The parts you change brand new or toks ?

Glad you were very observant of your temperature gauge.

I don't know how tech savvy you are with vehicle components, but I'll advise you engage a professional with it if this is your first time, since you'll be installing a thermostat. One wrong move could cost dearly.

Maybe the elders in the house could guide you through.
Installing a thermostat?

Also could a bad ect 2 sensor be the reason why my fans don't turn on at all?

Fans are good, fuses are good, relays are good. Scanned it and didn't get any cooling system related codes.

I removed the direct connection and allowed it warm up to 98°c and no signal from ecu to turn on the fans

What car is this, does it have a separate fan module on the fan area

No ECT 2 means no radiator fan.

Good day all

I’m very much interested in getting accord eod or dc
I4 engine.

My biggest concern with this car is the lower or upper arm failure, in country like ours, one won’t want to be be stranded at certain times or places

Please how best to maintain these parts and not experience this failure as I think Honda accord is very superior to its rival

Don’t have money for the 2013 upward model 😅 for now
I've been using Honda for more than 10yrs now and have never had a ball t pull. Coincidentally, just 3days ago, I saw a 2006 Corolla on the middle of the road with one front leg forming rebel.
Point is, maintenance is key. Don't ignore any abnormal sound for long. Change your ball t every one-two years depending on the quality of the one you have installed and how roughly you used the car. New OEM ones are quite expensive, so I use foreign used OEM ones and replace them every year depending on how I use the car. Just pay attention and you will never be stranded.

Yes Boss, the thermostat was likely removed that's why the fan was connected directly. If you want to revert the fan to factory standard, you'll also need to get the thermostat installed because that's part of what regulated the fan to come on/off

From my little knowledge, I think it was supposed to close back once the temperature becomes cool.

I don't know where you're buying your parts from or your location but I've once gotten a new thermostat from Willoughby Street in Oyingbo, Lagos.

I was able to purchase a tokunbo radiator that has the etc sensor. I would have gone for a new one but I was told the new one doesn't have the sensor.

So, the ect sensor 2 code has disappeared and the engine performance is much better. I appreciate everyone for their contributions

Put in your thermostat or keep wasting fuel everytime you drive.

The choice is entirely yours

No allow mechanic deceive you with the claim say more volume to hold water (aka double cell) be the best.
As long as you're not tracking the car all day, or hauling heavy load, or doing anything that would stress your cooling system and there are no underlying cooling issues with the car, the factory radiator is just fine for your car.
