Edo state probably have the worst road in Nigeria, at least of all the states in Nigeria I have travelled to, forget your HDI thing, the locals are not seeing it because most of them don't come to Nairaland.

A good Governor should care about the greatest plight of his people which is road and erosion, at least attend to it in some way, Obaseki didn't care, and now them Don show am..

Benin to Auchi is about 100 k/m apart in distance but it will take you more than 5 hours to travel between the 2 places, the 3 route are so terrible, people that road in pain for years and it was never attended to, that only show sign of wickedness just like how the drivers always put it.

ASUE in my opinion is the best candidate, but having OBASEKI as a godfather is such a big load for his candidacy, Edo election is different from other states, 4 years ago they voted Obaseki in because he was becoming a Godfather, this year they might vote PDP out just because of his wicked and I don't care approach to governance.

Lol 😂. Pidgin is very typical of Edo and warri so why the fuss. We need to develop our own to a world class so much that, pidgin will be taken as a course in universities around the world.

Don't link me to the evil politics of APC/PDP /LP nonsense you guys do here, I don't any party, politics is local and should stay local, the right candidate should win irrespective of party affiliation, in fact 4 years ago I ed Obaseki for governor but he has failed.

Secondly don't ever mistake me for any other person again, I ed with this Monica a very long time ago, long before the insanity you call politics was exported to Nairaland.

If Adeleke can be governor and lots of you APC haters are comfortable with it, anyone can be governor.

The only thing that reduced the crime level in Edo state in the last 8 years is that most of the Boys have simply learn how to get a phone and bomb, breaking and entry is no more attractive to them although it still happens but not like before, people shouldn't just assume or decide by what they see on the Internet, ask the locals and understand their sentiment. Edo is not a PDP or APC state, or LP just like what people wanted you to believe after the general elections, Edo is Edo.

Osho promised Edo people a fake ShopRite and no investment drive while many multinational and investment firms were attracted to Edo during Obaseki. rigging might be the reason but the root cause is the complete and utter failure of Obaseki at simple governance especially in the area of infrastructure. One would think he would have learned valuable lessons from a Wike as Rivers State governor, Akpabio's tenure or even someone as recent as Otti but trust the PDP to royally fûck themselves over. Edo people stood by him even when he had a fallout with oshiomhole. But what did we get in return? Nothing tangible he did in his second tenure.

I personally wasn’t invested in this year’s election. Didn’t bother voting yesterday, although my parents voted for pdp.

Asuen would have been the best candidate but it’s rather unfortunate the greedy and power hungry obaseki ruined it for him.

And as for those saying Edo don be Lagos, Edo can never and will never be Lagos. Nobody has the monopoly of power in Edo state. If okpebholo’s first tenure is nothing to write home about, I trust the good people of Edo state to vote him out.

I don't seat on Nairaland, and I only gave specific facts for others to read and make decisions. I have a personal relationship with about 4 of these politicians you have called . And the first road you listed on your initial post is a Federal Road, a Governor is not responsible/liable for federal road construction

There are about 4 routes between Auchi to Benin, if you want I can name them, only one is federal road, what happened to the remaining 3 route? Why are they bad in such a way that the drivers prefer to the bad federal road always?
