My Camry Muscle 2011 has a Venza engine too, 4 plugs. I don’t even understand all this calculations about 2.0l and 1.85l.

All I know is once if I place a full tank, it takes me to work for 10 days. I move to and fro Surulere and VI. Sometimes traffic could be terrible. And only last for 7 days. All thanks to T-pain that is the only time I drive.

There are two oxygen sensors. Upstream and downstream. The Upstream will be right after the exhaust manifold while the downstream will be after the catalyst. The job of these sensors is to measure what comes out of your exhaust manifold and Cat and do a conversion to determine how efficiently they are working.
I am not a Toyota expert but fuel consumption of a car or any vehicle are determine by how many injectors it has. Most Corolla has 4 injectors cos they classify them as compact car. Camry and Venza are classified as full size car are will have 6 injectors. All you have to do is see how many injectors you car use and that should explain it.

Some venza's are 4 plugged oo. Not all venza are 6 plugs.
My neighbors own is a 4 plugs banger.

Venza uses a 2.7 liters engine capacity. Camry uses 2.5 liters.
They look alike but definitely not the same capacity.

You're so right, my mechanic told me that the oxygen sensor is two. One is very close to the bunnet, catalyst area and the other Is just under the catalyst.

Please sir which of the two should I change to help with the excess fuel consumption, or should I change the two?

They look verymuch alike thats why local mechanics call it venza engine.
The difference is in capacity.
Venza is 2.7 liters in capacity( same with 09 highlander 4cyl and hilux 4cy)
Camry is 2.5 liters in capacity.
Your camry definitely isn't a 2.7 liters capacity.

8k fuel is very small these days and if you bought at 1100 per litre then it means 7.2ltrs although your car supposed to do at least 7-8km per litre which means you are supposed to get above 50km on 8k fuel

No thanks to federal government, fuel cost killing the masses since May 2023

It's just 6L, I bought 1350 per liter at the filling station.

I went with my mechanic to a car stand to get it, when we got there we saw different kinds/types of corolla. My mechanic told me some are 1.8l engine while others are 2.0l and a lot of the corolla uses venza engine.

I wanted to buy any of the corolla of 1.8L engine but my mechanic told me that they're old model, that I should get a recent corolla with Venza engine, but I refused when I heard the word "venza engine"

I told my mechanic that over my dead body will I jump from frying pan to fire, from Camry to Venza. I said so because since the corolla is using Venza engine, it'd surely gulp up fuel like Venza, which would be a lot worst than a camry.

But my mechanic assured me that what I said is very false, that it won't. That a corolla is a corolla and corollas doesn't eat fuel.

His words really calmed me down and I bought the 2012 corolla.

So I bought 8k fuel to test the fuel usage and see how long it'd last, I know I should have bought more, but I needed to get a faster result.

Well, it turns out that my mechanic tricked me and I'm in so much pains right now, my 8k fuel only went for 31km before the fuel got exhausted, I later realized that I was very much right and shouldn't have listened to my mechanic that a corolla is a corolla, venza engine or small 1.8L engine.

From my observation, it seems the 2012 corolla is gulping up fuel like a venza. Yesterday, I took it to a mechanic and asked them to fix anything that'd make the car to gulp up fuel, they changed the plugs, cleaned the filter, I will be testing it today with another 8k fuel, I pray and I hope that it won't be as bad as it was yesterday, because I'm so depressed right now, after what my camry did to me which made me went for a corolla, now I'm having same issue with my corolla. I'm really so down right now.

YOu took a thief or a roadside mechanic to buy a car,.You sir need to do a bit of reading about the car you drive to get 1st hand information about the car so you can make an informed decision .These days of the internet should have cleared these type of mistake.
Cars consume fuel according to their engine displacement irrespective of the brand, I struggle to understand how A corolla bearing a 2.0L engine is fuel efficient than a VW gulf with a 1.6L Engine. just cos its a toyota.

My corolla uses 2AZ engine. 2.4L engine, xrs.

I'm sure it's been removed, because whenever I match the teto the sound coming out of the exhaust seems like power bike, but a lot of mechanics has assured me that catalyst doesn't affect fuel consumption, I'd have changed it already.

There is no Corolla that can survive on a Venza engine. A Camry can and some Camry carries Venza engine. The Corolla will soon pack up apart from gulping fuel, it would be gulping too much engine oil too because the car was nlt built to carry that kind of engine.

you seee that 1.8 ltre and 2 ltr etc, thats the real Deal in buying car,If you don't understand it then you do not understand why one car is costlier than the other, you should pay special attention to the engine capacity of you car, as it stand now, your salon should be 2ltr max and suv less than 4ltr

I got 6L from the 8k fuel.

You got 6litre for the 8k fuel and you want it to take you to Maiduguri. My friend that fuel consumption is OK for a 31km journey that's if you truly counted the km.

It does mega much, her is an O2 sensor there which controls ur Injector.

The scan tool would tell you which one is bad. That is the only way to know which one to change. Since you have 4 injectors, doing a tune up should help reduce fuel consumption and makes your engine runs better. Apologies, I dis not learn mechanic from Nigeria, so I don't know na.ws we call most stuff relating to car stuff.

Go on line, check for the fuse the controls those things you mentioned and check if they are blown or not or just change the fuse and watch what happens
