I want to start up a sports viewing centre in my area. Budget is 500k.

Now it depends on how many view ( TVs ) U want to use
Then we use to use small screen but things have really changed alot.
If U must manage, 40inch plasma or led TV is preferable( Belgium )
But 50inch is a bit better
These TV will mostly consume that Ur 500k with U .
Then U will need a generator but with d current price of fuel, it's gonna be financially constraining on Ur part. Had it bin U have d capital, I will advice U to use solar..
U can use solar with out , I mean get a big battery of 100 v with at least 1 to 1.5 KVA inverter .
Benches will also consume U financially because woods are expensive now.
Fans , wires etc .
How about rentage, or are U building on an empty land? Hmmmmmm tight Ur belt ooo
With what I enlisted here , the minimum U will spent is 1million. & The near maximum U will spend is 1.5 million....
U can use this SLTV DECODER rather than DSTV.
atleast they are trying & it will save U cost....

These days there are so many apps where you can easily stream live matches on your phone or laptop for free. (I even have one on my phone) So you won't be getting so much customers.

And when you add the current price of fuel, you'll be needing at least 7k (minus Nepa bill) every match day to keep your Gen running. Question is how much would you charge your customers? Cos anything above N200 would be considered as too expensive. And if you put your fee at N500, the place would be so scanty. Most people would wait out the first half and come in when the second half has started so that they can pay a more cheaper amount.

And I don't need to tell you that this would affect your business seriously thus making it impossible for you to raise your principal after one year. (that's if the business survives up to a year)

Can you compare a stadium where you'd get to watch your team play live to a make shift bacher where you arrange benches for people to sit on?

Or are your targeted customers children and teenagers?

People truly spend thousands to watch their favorite team play like you pointed out, but if those are the kind of customers you're targeting, they don't come to bachers. They love comfort. And if your place isn't comfortable, you won't find them there.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm trying to be real with you by giving you a realistic analysis of what you're to expect in the business. Because even I myself I do hangout in bars on some weekends with friends to watch my favorite team. And to be honest with you, I don't think I can squeeze myself in a viewing center sweating like a bricklayer just to watch ball. I'd rather watch it from the comfort of my home.

The way you package your business determines the kind of customers you'll get. That's why you can open a saloon and charge N500 for a haircut and another saloon would charge 5k for the same hair cut. And you'd discover that you that is charging N500 even though it's cheap, you're literally struggling to keep your business afloat. Whereas the person charging 5k is living like a king. It's all about your packaging.

Think am well sha,,most people dey use live score or use data watch football.

Bros reason am well ooo,The Era of Viewing Centers is gradually Phasing out ooo.Just as Bet9ja Phased out Video game hall,same as cyber cafe and so many little other Bizness.So Apps now show matches and due to the situation of tinz in the Country most people now prefer to watch on there Phones.I can't the last time I payed money to watch a Football match.Just don't waste dt 500k.Tink of something better and more Lucrative u can start with dt Capital.

That's not how business works pls, it doesn't succeed just cause you're committed. A bad product/venture, no matter the commitment from the owners, will fail. I'm not going to advise the op cause so many smart people have already done that but seems he's dead set on opening the viewing center.
I hope it works for him tho, we need more stories of success to dim this quagmire the country has thrown us into.

Right now viewing centers charge 300-500 per match and if you check you can buy 1.5g or more with that amount of money so people prefer to watch matches on their phones now. I’ll advice you use that money to start something else even if it’s POs business you can open two road side POs with that money or even three sef depends. Leave Viewing center it will end in tears. And now fuel price no be here. Imagine how much you will spend on fuel daily and how much you will make in an era of smartphones. I for one I only follow live scores and the watch highlights later.
