Retailers in Nigeria have been using insecticides to preserve beans for God knows how long. There has not been any report of its intended use to poison buyers.

There are reports of use of Sniper to preserve beans by retailers all across Nigeria.

In 2018 the Consumer Protection Commission (C) issued an alert to Nigerians about this incident. The alert even warned Nigerians against extensive parboiling of beans based on this concern

Isn't it basic science that no organisms survives once water has reached boiling point?.. so how will any organism still be in beans that has been through intense cooking ?

The fact is, once washed properly and cooked, beans preserved with chemicals is safe to eat
