It looks like for card payment, you can only pay in USD. The info below is copied from the new site. You can read up by checking under the "non-immigrant visas tab" under "visa fees and payment"


Visa Fee Payment Options
Before paying the visa fee, you need to sign up on this website and start the scheduling process. Once you have selected the visa type and provided the personal details, you will be able to choose between the following payment options:

- Cash payment or electronic funds transfer in local currency at First Bank of Nigeria; or
- Card payment in USD.

- Bank Deposit option (Cash or Electronic Transfer (EFT)): When accessing this payment option, you must generate and a payment deposit slip by clicking on the ''Generate'' button accessible on the screen. Follow the instructions on the deposit slip to make a cash payment at the bank or EFT payment through online banking. These payments are to be made in local currency only. There are two pieces of information on the deposit slip that are extremely important for a successful payment:

*Transaction Reference Number – You must indicate it accurately when making the payment. This number will allow the appointment system to validate your visa fee payment and allow you to proceed further with the visa application process.
*Expiration Date – You have three (3) days to pay the visa application fee from the date you generate the deposit slip. Please check the expiration date on the deposit slip and ensure you pay the fee before the mentioned expiration date. If the slip expires, please log back into your profile and generate a new one by following the same steps. After making a payment via Cash or EFT, please allow one business day for the bank to process the transaction before continuing to the appointment calendar to book an appointment.

- Card Payment option: When accessing this payment option, you will be prompted to introduce your card details to complete the transaction. This payment is to be made in USD only. There is no wait time for the transaction to be processed. Upon completing a successful transaction, you will be able to proceed immediately to the appointment calendar to book an appointment.

My sister has interview on Friday 30th of August but embassy sent mail to her today that her appointment date has been rescheduled for 18th of Sept.

My question now is, which proof for the new appointment confirmation will she present to the embassy? Can she printout the email sent by US embassy as regard d new appointment date and present it on he interview date.

1. They did not ask you to , they ask you to wait for the instructional email so, keep waiting till they get back to you.

2. This new website (AVITS Amentum) gives the USA embassy more ease of work , and it has come to enforce " wait for your turn " on VISA applicants.

3. The only set of applicants who can go and sign up on the website are the new applicants who are very ready to go and do something there , especially MRV payments. Old applicants with future appointments must wait for the email from the USA embassy before they can proceed.

PS: Check junks & spam mails 2 - times daily.

1. There should be clickable link in that email which should take your sister to the new page where she can print a new VISA appointment letter. If there is none, do not panic, she will receive another email before the D day. If, around 1 - week to the new appointment she did not receive such mail, then she can call the helpline.

Where is the IW topic you just brought in , in the above question?

Even with the IW, you are still going to wait for the Interview Waiver Confirmation Letter with detailed information on how to proceed.
That is even if you are qualified based on the questionnaire you filled in the renewal application process on the new portal.

My mum was supposed to have her interview last Friday, 23rd but on getting there the people at the entrance turned her back because apparently, her profile was updated the previous day because the appointment confirmation codes didn't match and it needed to be updated. She was asked to check back on the website after 3 working days. Now the old website isn't working anymore and she also hasn't received any mails either.

Gurus in the house, what could be going on and the way forward?

Will she be rescheduled by them or she has to get another appointment date on her own?

Will they see it as a missed appointment? And if it is, how do we go about it?

I waited this long to bring it here because I hoped she would get a mail as the old system is no longer available.

1 According to the new directive by the USA embassy, qualified applicant for IW shall receive " Interview Waiver Confirmation Letter, with detailed information on how to submit the application documents.

2. Therefore, according to the info above, drop off location should be included in the confirmation letter.

PS: Those IW applicants awaiting confirmation letter might have their IW converted to physical interview, if the embassy feels like they actually did not qualify or the embassy just feel like doing so. Therefore, expect the outcome in 2- ways round.

1. You probably did not complicate anything. The USA embassy expects misunderstanding of their directives because the new instructions should take the remaining of this year to circulate. They also expect trial & error from stubborn applicants.

PS: The USA embassy will send mail to you when it's your turn, regardless of your gambit.
