Just google African organization in IIT Chicago and I am sure they are a better resource for you to getting settled or info about accommodation.

Most of them schools have Facebook page for their organization or instagram page. Reach out to them and get your info

I want to ask, if your start date is spring 2025, and you have your I20, can you go for interview now?

Can someone please respond?
JohnZak: 10:21pm On Aug 11, 2024
Yes! You can apply for and be issued an F1 visa up to a year before the resumption date on your I20. However, you won’t be allowed to enter the US more than 30days before the resumption date.

How does God speak to you about engaging in clearly illegal activities?

While God does work with faith... that isn't the case here. It is not faith to lie about having enough funds to study, then proceed to the US and get stranded, looking for illegal loopholes to stay afloat. That same God also said: Luke 14:28,29 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him.”

There's nothing like weak come back. You're too proud to accept the fact that you're being hypocritical. Is coming back not a prerequisite in the US visa interview? Did you tell the VO that you were going to stay back after your studies that earned you 60k dollars/year? How you got to America and how much you earned doesn't matter, what matters is that you didn't come back as required of you so your own hypocrisy stinks hell out of this earth

This is exactly why Nigeria is screwed up as a country, do you know if the VO asked him if he will be returning back to Nigeria at the end of his course OR what will he do after graduation?

Sir Justwise, respect to you as the .

But intention to return to your home country must have been established during the interview for the VO to approve his visa.

No, it doesn't work that way with student visa, visiting visa yes home ties matters but this is not the case with student visa because the visa gives you the avenue to explore other opportunities within and outside US.

When VO asked about your plan after graduation that question is not specifically about returning back to Nigeria.

All applicants for F1 (nonimmigrant) visas must demonstrate strong ties to their home country to show that they intend to return home after their studies and have reasons to do so. Any indication of immigrant intent will lead to the visa being denied, and that includes insufficient plans or motivation for return.

Hello House,
I have been following this thread for a while and it has really been of great help. Kudos to everyone. However, I am in need some clarification . I hold a Bsc in ing and EMBA in Operations and Production Mgt both from OAU with 6 years work experience in the banking industry. I have a valid B1/B2 visa. Had my baby in the US last year and paid all hospital bill in full before coming back home
I want to pursue a Masters in Business Analytics for Fall 2025 semester.
1). Kindly give recommendations of schools that provide full funding and GA for Fall 2025. with high acceptance rate(would greatly appreciate a hold with GRE waiver)
2). Is a MSc in Business Analytics in line with my undergraduate and MBA degree. I’m afraid the VO may ask why I want to pursue another Masters and may deny me.
2). In the case where I am not granted a F1 visa, does it affect my B1/B2 visa?

Apologies for my lengthy write up and I look forward to your responses.
Thank you.

Hi Everyone,

I recently paid for WES evaluation, and almost immediately, I got a mail from QualificationChecks; an of WES. QC is to help me hasten the WES evaluation by ing my school(UNIBEN) for my transcript and also be an intermediary with WES.

I have paid the extra $60, but my application keeps bouncing back- that I need to a consent form.

Is there anyone that have used their services and how did you get the consent form or should I just write a consent letter?

Thanks for your anticipated inputs.

Hello. I would like to ask how you eventually went about the Wes QC stuff. I am in the process of getting Wes evaluation for my sister and there is the QC option. I want to know how useful it is.

1. Recommended schools for full funding and GA (Graduate Assistantship) with high acceptance rates (some with GRE waiver options):
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Purdue University

University of Wisconsin-Madison

Georgia Institute of Technology

University of Texas at Austin

Indiana University Bloomington

University of Florida

2. Pursuing an MS in Business Analytics aligns with your background in ing and Operations Management. It's a natural progression, as Business Analytics combines data analysis, business acumen, and managerial skills.

Just try to highlight how the MS in Business Analytics complements your existing degrees and work experience.

Showcasing your career goals and how the program will enhance your skills.
3. If your F1 visa application is denied, it shouldn't directly affect your existing B1/B2 visa.

Good Luck!

No. She doesn't need any Nigerian to connect with. If she can't find any community of Nigerian Students in Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin on the internet or Facebook page, she shouldn't fret over it.

Hey 🤠

1. 100% MSc fundings, in justposition with PhD fundings is scarce, except if you have an outstanding CGPA, better teaching, research, related-work experiences, and a good test scores (you are even looking for GRE waiver). Nevertheless, you are free to Google more than 4,000 USA institutions and make a direct inquiry through the international graduate issions office.

2. MSc in Business Analytics is in line with ing and MBA, they are all intertwined. In USA, STEM-MBA and MSBA are the trends among business corporations , MSBA
also allow for 3-years of OPT as a STEM based business program.

3. Yes, USA consuls are aware of all avenues that gives citizens of other countries the opportunity to visit and eventually change VISA status, therefore, expect the consular to put your intention into test because you are a B1-B2 visa holder with a US citizen kid. So expect any consular to think that ' you are trying to look out for a favourable resident avenue. Another MSc is not a crime , but the genuine reason (s) for another MSc is the key.

4. If your F-1 VISA is not granted , it does not naturally affects your B1-B2 VISA, except if, the consular officer detects previous VISA fraud or lies. Nonetheless, your USA citizen baby will give your entry a kind of shield since you may have the need to take the baby for medicals, or appearance for citizenship documentation in the future.

Best Wishes 🙏

Hey 🤠

1. Yes it's possible but it depends on your kind of card. Why not visit your bank physically for clear inquiry?

2. There are also virtual cards through apps which you can purchase solely for the payment of international application fees. Your bank staffs can also provide you with further details of this.

3. If your application fees is above $100 you may ask the school for transfer . Few schools accepts bank transfer of application fees from $100 upward.

Best Wishes 🙏

I believe I have wasted my money. I paid $60 for it, and I am told that it will take 60 - 80 work days for a response. Now, I have sent someone in Nigeria to Exams and Records (Uniben) to help me fast track it. If you have someone in your sis school that can help fast track it, just follow the person align.

Every resource you need is online. In my time, you had to rely on fewer resources and books. The pathological laziness of this generation never ceases to amaze me.

@Chidiakwari, @VictorMessi1,@OyoTunjiUSA Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it.

I was discussing with a friend of mine yesterday and he suggested I go for a PhD instead as this will show progression. He said the fact that I already have an MBA and still want to go for another Masters may ring alarm bells in the VO’s head.

I have no interest whatsoever in lecturing but at the same time I don’t want my MBA to be a reason for a denial. I’ll be in the comment section.
Thank you.

In general, being refused an F-1 visa does not impact your existing B1/B2 visa, because these are independent visa categories with different objectives.

I got the 214b. I don't know why. My tution was paid, my parents work at prestigious institution and make lot's of money. I also have a big scholarship from my university. I am 17 (so I don't have a stable job) how am I supposed to prove home ties? And If I don't have ties to my home country(despite my whole family living there) then I definitely have no ties to the USA as well( I have no family there) what am I supposed to do?
