Distinguished Senator Heineken Lokpobiri @senlokpobiri, the Honourable Minister of State Petroleum Resources [Oil], convened a high-level meeting with key stakeholders to address and resolve the ongoing issues surrounding the Dangote Refinery.

The stakeholders expressed their gratitude to the Honourable Minister for his exemplary leadership and timely intervention in facilitating this crucial dialogue. The meeting focused on finding a sustainable and lasting solution to the current ime affecting the Dangote Refinery, with all parties demonstrating a commitment to collaborative and proactive problem-solving.

1) The government cannot supply crude to Dangote refinery at a subsidised cost and agree the price of finished products to the benefit of the masses.

2) The government cannot carry out this supply transaction in naira rather than dollars.

Imagine if the MD of the NNPC or the NMPDRA was a Yoruba, it'd have assumed a tribal tone., but alas they're Dangote brothers. This is one reason Nigeria needs to break up along tribal/ regional lines. There are some policies, decisions and plans the govt sometimes has to shelve because they know people would read inter-ethnic meaning to it. In a monoethnic nation, such would not happen.
