House! Sorry for derailing but I want to ask

Was aegon not chosen to be the king by the late king (I can't his name)
I thought I heard him mentioned aegon name as his heir before his death

The king meant Rhaenyra's son Aegon...not Alicent's son.

Nah, it wasn't only Rhaenyra who knew it was Daemon. Princess Rhaenys (Rhaenyra's mother-in-law) already knew it was Daemon before anyone thought of it. Look again at the glances she and Daemon gave each other.

Nope. You're also confusing it.

Viserys was talking about the first Aegon The Conqueror who conquered the Seven Kingdoms under one banner. Their ancestor.
It is said Aegon I saw the prophecy of the long night and reign of Darkness coming, so to prevent it he had to unite all the Kingdom under one banner to better prepare for what's to come.

He was saying the same prophetic story to Rhaenyra earlier and thought he was still talking to her when Alicent entered cos he was delirious and drugged.

Most people thought he was refering to Jon Snow as his real name is also Aegon.

Thanks for the clarification, honestly I might need to rewatch season 1 because the recap videos I watched didn't do much...
I have been mixing up faces too since the season 2 began...

the late king didn't chosen Aegon to be the king, he already said his daughter will be next after him and nothing can change his mind.......

Everyone knew the king didn't want Aegon or any of his son's to be king that's the main issues and the people were forced to accept Aegon as the king

Constellation is good. Could've been much better though. I particularly like episode 6; Paul is dead.

My problem with it is that they wasted too much time. 4 episodes in and I'm still like "What the fvck is going on exactly"? The story hasn't really moved forward. And that cliffhanger is weak and a little desperate. Maybe that's because I watched it knowing that the show has been canceled.

How is casting black people historically incorrect you simpleton?
Bro is like Samuel L Jackson's character in Django Unchained. Bro hates his own black people for succeeding. I'm sure if it's in the slave era, he'd sell his children for a thank you to his white gods

Succession S1-4
The best series I've ever binged

I've had this series for a long while but I'vent even opened it too even see what It's because the premise didnt really entice me- a series about a rich dysfunctional family 🤷🏽‍♂️ I prefer dragons, death and blood. But right from the first episode of this series- you can never understand the direction of this show! The best directed series I've ever watched for a number of reasons

1. succession’s outrageous ambition

It seamlessly blends explosive comedy with dismal tragedy, often in the same scene, and delivers sharp observations, wit, irreverence and awe, in equal measure. And then there’s formal daring – for example, Season Four’s timeline is just ten days, that is, a day(ish) per episode!

At the heart of the work is the study of ambition itself: At a systemic level it continues to prosecute capitalism’s deep contradictions; at the personal level it vivisects the narcissistic, avaricious, self-actualising destructive, bitter, deluded, driven and wicked selves breathing such fetid air; and at the centre is the death-like grasp of the rugged individualist patriarch’s vaulting ambition, o’erleaping itself, and all who stand before it.

2. succession is like nothing else

Part satire, part pastoral, part comical-historical-tragical, it is akin to Dallas or Dynasty (less the big hair and bigger shoulder pads – indeed here the comedy masquerades as tragedy) but Succession zeroes in on not only wealth and excess but trauma, sorrow and media-business via grotesquerie and fine naturalism.

It looks like a fly-on-the-wall doco – with its use of hand-held cameras and whip zoom – yet is stunningly curated and designed. It is a lux travelogue to estates, extravagant yachts and mountain retreats, but is often claustrophobically domestic.

It’s also a business primer, reckless, roiling therapy, living thought experiment and morality play. Mash-ups can sometimes just be mash, yet here the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

3. the affect

How often do you shout at the TV? Watching this show it becomes inevitable, except when it also freezes your hands in dread halfway between shielding your eyes, blocking your ears or clutching at your stomach.

You’ll also cry, cry with laughter, in misery, in fear. It’s a car crash – in one instance, literally. You shouldn’t look, but you do – and you will feel something.

4. a moral compendium

Evagrius Ponitcus, a 4th-century monk, compiled what Pope Gregory later described as the Seven Deadly Sins. Evagrius was worried that just listing temptation and sin might harm his readers. He knew though that it was crucial work, with each of us needing to know our strengths and weaknesses.

Watching the wilful concatenation of vainglory, greed and lust, acedia (despondency) and tristitia(sorrow), that is Succession, it really does pack an ethical punch.

5. succession is its own thesaurus

It is tempting just to assemble quotation after quotation of rebarbative, wounding, up-to-the-minute and hilarious lines and neologisms from the show. And bilious, ingenious, dyspeptic many of them are.

People even pay just to have Brian Cox – who played Logan Roy, the patriarch – swear at them.

There is so much more to the show however than one-liners.

6. characters, actors, performances

Merely just listing the character names is enough to elicit a shake of the head, knowing that they are so appalling generous, and evil. Trapped in their wicked closed loops, it’s head-spinning cognitive dissonance.

What is not in dispute is how strong each actor is, especially so in this final season where even the smaller parts are stepping up and hitting it out of the park.

7. how the 0.1% live

Rich people, literally Les Rois, the Kings. Is it a celebration or a repudiation? Either way, they live in our world, but most are not of (or care for) this world.

NB: it's also one of the funniest shows I've ever watched which is strange
An A+++++ show

DC about to be great again.

The writers list is too solid, Chris Mundy and then Damon Lindelof, the genius behind Lost, The Leftovers, Watchmen?? Now seal the deal with legendary comic scribe Tom King?

I'm losing my shït right now.
James Gunn has over delivered on the list of filmmakers, writers and actors he's brought together for the various projects so far. Also, his slate is superb.

Bridgerton season 3 is a solid 8. 5/10 for me.
The best season after season one.
Now this is how to stage a proper comeback from the not so interesting season 2.
Though i still don't understand why these people are hell bent on adding any semblance of gayy scene in this season 3.

This season was 100% a perfect show and those gay/threesommme scenes were totally unnecessary and doesn't make sense at all.

However the season is an epic season of thrill, romance, mystery and suspense.
It's surprising as to how all the casts brought their A games into this season, they all lived through their roles as if they were living their everyday lives, it's just simply amazing how they do it.

What more can i say?
I am short for words because if i begin to talk about the show proper, it means i will heap praises on all the casts of the show.

What next for season 4?
I don't know but i hope to continue to see these amazing casts for many many years to come.
Different opinions sha…Season 2 is the reason I love the series, 1 was cool but 2 was fire!!! Season 3 - saying it was extremely boring is an understatement! Too many unnecessary scenes…the only tension came from trying to discover Lady Whistledown. Colin and Penelope love felt so fake, then sca and John? Like theirs just so dry like crayfish!

S4 cemented it's goat status. The writing was so bold, and i thought the stunt they pulled at episode 3 would tank the show, but it waxed stronger.

Solid 4 seasons run, no more no less, didn't try to over stay it's welcome or unnecessarily drag on. Stellar acting from an impeccable cast, high quality production value and landed
one of the most philosophical and realest ending to a show in years, as it didn't try to pander to any fairytale ending.

That scene towards the end between Shiv, Roman and Kendall, encapsulates the reason why it's official tag is "satire-dark comedy" it was so funny and dark at the same time. 😩🤣

Tv and literally one of my best shows ever ✨

Lol but for real, the intensity in season 1 was fire 🔥 especially the sex scenes.
Reason why season one was the best for me, is because it was in season one that all the characters were introduced to us.
The reason i really don't like season 2 is because season 2 made me miss some characters in season 1 but this season three brought new cast, new storyline all together that isn't just about love or the queen finding a match.
The intenced friendship between Penelope and Eloise added to why i loved this season 3.
