VTJN: You are still saying the same thing. The complain was relative Nigerians were still COMPLAINING. |

fastseo:Most villages? Are you sure? The North has 19 states made up of mostly rural settlements. Are you saying more than half of those states have been taken over by bandits? Think well o And Yes!! Food production has increased in Nigeria since 2017. This is Yemi Kale former head of NBS and presently principal partner at KPMG corroborating my view

fastseo:So there's food scarcity due to two hectares of maize farm in Benue? This is flood destroying over 100k hectares in 2022 Did we have over 50% food inflation in 2022? 1 Like |
VTJN(m): 7:18pm On Jun 23, 2024 |
Zxcvbnmghtr:yes it's relative, so why are you saying Nigerians are poor that's why they're complaining? Were they complaining of hunger or hardship before APC came in? What does that tell you? A government that has taken ordinary food away from the mouth of the masses should be ready to face the wrath. |
fastseo: 7:31pm On Jun 23, 2024 |
Ojuntana:Yes that likewise contributed to the food hike we see today and its impact will still be felt even till years to come Note the food hike is not only attributed to fuel prices... Know this and have peace. As food prices has been on the increase before now and I attributed this to fall in farm yield and population growth rate. The fuel cost due to subsidy removal only wosen the effect. |
Zxcvbnmghtr: 7:35pm On Jun 23, 2024 |
VTJN: You and I have agreeded that it is relative. Which has been my point of emphasis. Nigerians will always complain and complain and were complaining then too of HARDSHIP. YES NIGERIANS WERE COMPLAINING to a point that people were praising Yaradua who they also complained about. The irony is, when you see the person complaining. You will see him being able to afford good clothes, have a car or cars, house in short the basic necessities of life. Let me ask you. Can't you afford your three square meal anymore. Was it during Jonathan era that you last eat rice because a bag was 8k and you couldn't afford it anymore since after APC took over? Do you get it now. |

fastseo:So flooding of 2022 is responsible for food scarcity in 2024 according to you. It makes a lot of sense. Food inflation in 2022 was 24% max. Today it is 50%. So you definitely can't compare food inflation in 2022 with that of this 2024. The singular difference is the transport cost. Every other issue present in 2022 remains and the situation is even better. We have not had flood of the 2022 scale in 2024. Banditry has reduced in 2024 compared to 2022. The singular factor that has worsened is transport which has affected cost of farm inputs and cost of movement of goods. You can't have general rise in cost of transport and expect food price to be exempted |

We in the north east have been there since 2020. Plan meals? I don’t recall when I did that last. Probably 2014/15. Just eat what I see and can afford, and pray it doesn’t send me to the sick bed.

Zxcvbnmghtr:Sorry sir. This is a dumb analogy to make. I'll use myself as an example and let me assure you that I earn far above average income in Nigeria. I no longer eat golden penny spaghetti. My wife had to substitute it for one like that. I no longer use Ariel washing. I now use Viva I bought "Belgium" tires the last tires I bought for my truck last month for the first time ever. I no longer buy foreign rice. I eat local rice though its the branded one that's free of stones and well processed with a price of 70k. When Jonathan was there, I only buy like two bowls of local rice as a patriotic gesture. What about fuel? I don't buy fuel like I used to obviously So to claim people are complaining because it's what they are used to is downright condescending and disrespectful. And I'm sure you're not better than most Nigerians in this economy 4 Likes 1 Share |

Zxcvbnmghtr:No, he is not saying the same thing, read with comprehension but i believe you are only pretending, because he wrote those things in plain language. no government is perfect hence citizens must complain, but the level of suffering and hardship that Nigerians are experiencing under APC government is on a high new level, never before felt in Nigeria. you can be blaming Nigerians for being poor even when the APC government is the one impoverishing them, through harsh policies, moreover even the best nations still have the poor ones in their midsts, that the government always put into consideration while formulating policies. you guys should stop ing this insensitive and crooked government, you can see how they are busy taking good care of their own luxurious needs, not allowing the so-called economic crunch affect their own needs. if you guys are rich, what about your poor fellow citizens ? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Cassandraloius: Yes! Nigerians deserve whatever they're going through. They campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015. They should live with their decisions! Organise an election today: Tinubu would win free and fair. So, whatever Nigerians see, let them take it like that! 2 Likes |

smileyoo: You both have been buttressing my point over and over by not disagreeing that Nigerians were not complaining during Jonathan. Infact from your comment, what you are saying is that, the APC government is what has made Jonathan perceived to be better. It doesn't change the fact that Nigerians were not complaining that they were satisfied. When Jonathan was president. Did Nigerians praise him to be better than Obasanjo or Jonathan? The answer is a Capital No. Yet during both Yar'adua but especially Obasanjo Nigerians were still complaining. |
