U guys that are through I really envy u all. Honestly ur time things were easy.

Do u have an idea where one can get a loan either in UK or Nigeria? Loan that is cheaper in of interest.

I'll tell you this
Back in 2021, if I recollect properly, international students were getting jobs anyhow....

During off term time, people were doing 55 hrs steady (across two agencies sha, the likelihood of one agency giving u 55 hrs is next to nil) and school fees payment was sweet

Back then too, if you got a care job that offered sponsorship, you can even get COS before graduating sch
But Third worlders will be third worlders, esp Nigerians and Indians
they started getting work and dropping out of school, hence mes school budgets

You new entrants are paying for the sins and abuse of the predecessors
but there is still hope....

I still suspect that down the line, western economies, especially Canada will reopen the doors again

With UK universities now it's not like that. I have read so many stories here and I will add my input again.
Those painting it black are actually 1000% right. They don't care for you u might be right but yes they are right with everything. If it's other kind of visa then coming unprepared is not an issue but student visa in UK now.. Don't play if u don't have ur fees. UK universities are now like our loan shark companies in Nigeria that don't give u peace again

Here is what my school sent me 3 days back

Have tried ing them explaining to them even tried seeing them but they denied me ever seeing them angry this unnecessary pressure has made Me failed some courses embarassed

My brother, if you can't make the payment please explore plan B options

You are right with this claim as someone from the finacial team I spoke with said audit where carried out across UK universities and found that they are losing huge funds to student. And this school share data across board.
I heard some even worked made lots of money and never paid a dimn to school then use same funds to process study visa to Australia while others to other EU countries with better prospects

Probably reason why they are all implementing hash rules now and don't mind deporting one home embarassed

Agreed with all point except fish farming. My advice is wait for dollar rate to fall small and convert your naira to USD, find alternative cheaper developed country with language barrier and learn their language with seriousness for one year and disappear from that country before Bulaba use person do pepper soup
Not really am just venting how it has become almost impossible to scale given present circumstance then my comparison to fish farming.

If had known I would av learnt Spanish and explore south American I have seen a thread on that. But well again all funds exhausted between the devil and deep blue sea. Prayer mod activated

Well said. This is what everyone keep telling me. They keep saying we are paying for the sins of those who came before us. Some employers don't even want to hear that you are a student. It is well

From what I know, it is dependent on schools

Some schools ask for POF even BEFORE they issue you CAS
so you will have to ask the school

I am looking at schools that will not harass for payments sha
from what I hear from associates, Bradford are not quick to harass ppl for outstanding payments....
while looking for "cheap schools"; also consider student and benevolence.

Imagine Teeside Uni saying they will pay flight ticket back home for students owing ?
is it not better to keep them for them to "find" the money and pay than to spend money to get them deported then lose out on all the income.....
these guys eh

They want to use them as scapegoat and to serve as detterent to others. The thing shock me sef.

If you apply through an agent not need for POF before CAS, but if you apply yourself, you’ll need one.

If I get you correctly, you want to pay tuition deposit. It’s £5,500 after which you will get an Unconditional offer. Then you will be eligible to apply for CAS. But you must have your TB test and POF of the required amount for 28days. (I don’t know anything ing agents and it’s benefits)

No one is saying don’t come to the uk but if you do try apply for a school with better payment plan. Sometimes ehn the ones with better payment plans they good but expensive and vice versa. If you miss the payment plan na trouble you they find for yourself cause when you land you will ask God questions. Plymouth is good in of payment plans but expensive…

Yes that's the standard tax system in UK. Many don't understand the tax system and will discourage people working more than one job.

Ikeja is free while VI is 76.5 Pounds.

Note: This is not Flexi or Prime Appointment. (You'll still pay this irrespective)

Inshort, IKEJA is Cheaper.

Thank you so much Shyshybobo. Just a little clarification. Please apart from the student visa fee of £490 what other charges are we to pay? Please walk me through the visa process, abeg.

Please I need help on what to do.

I did my TB screening at St Nicholas hospital for 60,000 naira. The x-ray results came out as abnormal due to my past tb treatment during COVID era. Now st. Nicholas is referring me to do sputum test and I'm to pay a new fee of 115,750 naira for the sputum test after the initial 60k.

Please is that how it's been done. I mean the charges. Almost amounting to 180k

yea, thats the norm
After doing a normal TB test and getting "abnormal" , you have to do a sputum test
and that takes weeks too, so brace up

As a dependant, they probably want to be satisfied about the genuineness of the relationship with main applicant.

No, I never heard of dependants being interviewed until now, but people have abused the system so it's not surprising if they start running interviews to check if the relationships are genuine.

If genuine, you shouldn't have much to worry about

Eyah!

Back then, I did 75hrs weekly (12.5hrs per day/ 6 days a week..20.00-08.30) during off term as a children residential worker.

Had only one 15 year old in the residence, who had already eaten her dinner, in her bedroom, chatting with her friends over the phone and watching TV by the time I was to start my shift at 8p.m.

Spent the entire waking night, seated in the lounge having mugs of tea, watching Netflix on the big screen there and working on my dissertation....all I had to do, was be the adult awake in the house during the night and the company offered sponsorship for FREE, got it and still graduated from school then switched to another free sponsorship....LIFE WAS GOOD!
