Pls I want to confirm the long stay visa is the minimum stay 3 months or can one qualify for it if their planned trip is for about 2 months

The issue is being able to stay for more than the 30days stipulation for a single entry

Renewing your port doesn't change anything. You have a unique DHA number which doesn't change with any visa granted you. Within the period of your ban, have you visited other countries?

I'll also suggest you wait till next year before reapplying, and make sure you state your earlier ban. Otherwise na another ban you go chop.

It has automatically been lifted. Again, I suggest you give it another year or two before attempting to enter SA. Traveling to only one country in five years won't convince them that you are a responsible traveler. Go to other places and don't overstay - this is what SA would use to judge you in your next application.

Congratulations to me, i got one year visiting sticker visa yesterday, i submitted on April 30 and was released on 15th though the visa was approved on 8th, I did it myself, no agent, thanks to nairaland for guidance

It 9 years since we came back to Nigeria (with 2 kids) hubby too became frustrated when he couldn't renew his visa too. He later came back to Nigeria. Now, I want to apply for master's and go back, is there any chance of being given visa after 9 years, with over stay record even though the years have ed?

Overstay requires a legal representation. Since you were in Sa for long, it makes it easier. Please ask your to help you get an immigration lawyer with connections to the home affairs. In no time, it will be wiped from the system, if you can afford the legal fees. Be informed that Overstay is not an easy process, All the best
