Booked an impromptu flight from Lagos to Asaba via United Nigeria to Asaba from Lagos . Booked the flight at 9:33am, it was a 1pm flight that cost ₦86,956.52. landing 2pm. Aim was to travel back same day .

Got to the airport at 11:30am. Checked email, no cancellation , so I walked up to the check in counter .

Checking counter says no flights to Asaba

But flight will get to Anambra then airline will put engers on a bus to Asaba

What is painful is I received no notifications for flight cancelation, I would have remained at home and not wasted money heading to the airport .

There was also no option of a rescheduled flight for same day.


Today is Sunday, and there will be a mad rush to leave Anambra to beat the sit at home routine,

The location of the Anambra airport is on the outskirts of town and not secure .

Not ready to waste about 3-4hrs from Anambra airport to Asaba town.

With this experience, it's pointless trusting them with my travel plans in the future.

No one is saying Anambra is not safe but as stated.

I am asaba based and even me too would prefer to be dropped in Benin than Anambra on a Sunday.

Gazzuzz, inasmuch as The Airline (United whatever) has to be called out for their incompetence, non-communication and lack of customer respect, I'll like to correct a little mixups with your experience.

Firstly the distance from Anambra Airport to Asaba is less than 1hour, you can this from daily commuters using commercial buses and ing old bridge.

Secondly the Airline uses it's own coaster buses to convey engers from Anambra Airport to Asaba, if they don't have enough engers for direct Asaba, I have been a victim before( Where they failed woefully is not informing you guys on time)



Least I forget, the airline coaster buses don't ply the old bridge, they use the new bridge and have armed escorts that sandwich the coaster bus(es). Pointing back to the distance of the journey, it is actually less than 1 hour from the Anambra airport to Asaba.

For the refund, hope you initiated the process at the counter and your ticket is a full refundable one.

General 2 cents: Not saying this is what happened bro, but try booking your flights yourself so all communication can get to you first hand.

After researching the owner of this airline, things easily fell into place... Na so most transporters from that side dey do

The spirit of "Trans-load" that has infected all Luxurious Bus Transporters from that part of the country has also infected this airline owner..

"Transload" occurs when a transport company transfers engers from their vehicle to another to finish a journey whose t-fare they had already collected in full.. . From the get-go, they know that they are not going to reach the desired destination, but due to their greed for the complete transport fare, they will collect it in full and then make only a part of the journey, and transfer the engers to the cheapest junk they can find to complete the journey.. All this is done without informing the enger about their intent to transload before collecting his money..

Travelling from point A to point B uninterrupted is alien to transporters from that side of the country.. To collect money dey sweet dem die, but to finish the task agreed na problem..

I won't be shocked that if op makes too much noise in their office about getting a refund, like 4 Agbero dey on ground to comot im teeth .. Na their standard modus operandi be that.. Refuse to complete a contract, and then have you beaten up when you complain

Thank you for this. I've been in a dilemma about trying them out cos of lower rates or sticking with Air Peace.

Most airlines have very little traffic on their weekend flights especially Sundays. Worst of all afternoon weekend flights, cos there are hardly any engers. (Cc folake4u)

It could be that they had more Anambra engers than Asaba so they just decided to drop all of you in Anambra, then convey you guys heading to Asaba in a bus.

But they should have just told you guys that they wouldn't be flying to Asaba. They can't expect to run a successful business this way.

How sure are you it's a coaster bus? What if it's the town service bus?

This is unbelievable.... highway robbery. GAZZUZZ ... I strongly suggest you take them to court ... sue them for millions... get a lawyer that will take like 50% of whatever the award... he will go for the jugular.... the judge is likely to take your side because judges do fly and will not want he nor his family be victims. These businesses do as they please because there are no consequences. What next?... you book flight and when you get to check in they put you on a bus?

My first and probably last experience with them was rescheduling/delaying my Lagos - PH flight by a whooping 24hrs.

If you need to be on time for anything, don't bother doing United Nigeria.

We can see how people are complaining Abt all this airline how they treat dere enger buh when someone complain Abt Airpeace also people will come out and say they're sponsored one thing is all this Local flight carrier behave anyway they like because they all know there's no consequence....



The Govt needs to start to sanction all this people all this derr ill treatment is enough....
