In the late 80s/early 90s, we used to rock moccasins, bikers and sancho boots . Then mid 90s came, and boom! Timbolo took over and it never looked back since then.

Tupac actually made it popular here in Nigeria.
That's as far back as 1996 in his video Hit Em Up.
A very dope JAMZ!

Do you know that this shoes and Volkswagen beetle both sold for N15,000 in the late 1990s ( no embellishments). I a friend of my elder brother boasting of owning a beetle then and the other flaunting his timberland boots. The argument that ensued back then was who between them would woo a lady first with their possessions

Your age and location decides what
your answer will be...

These boots have been an urban social
dress culture since the 90s, but some
younger people started seeing them worn
by their celebrities few years back.

Just like the All Star sneakers πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ
that are virtually the street wear for every
American since the 60s & is still part of
their dress culture today.

The hip hop gang from the early 1990s. I would give it to Tupac Amaru Shakur for triggering the romance between hip hop and Timberland work boots... I had my own Timberlands too from back in the day.
