It's been interesting following the discussion, the one I'll simply tag "insights into the African mentality."

So many scholars have attempted to find an acceptable explanation to the current state of Africa (black Africa maybe) without much success.

I'll say we Africans are not genetically inferior to any other race, the likes of Ben Carson have proved that the black skin does not infer an inferior brain - infact, superior in some cases as it were.

But, there's a problem. Africans seem unable to govern themselves successfully, I really don't know why. That's where the real issue is, there seem to be something eternally holding us down as long as we remain in our continent but once we step out (under a foreign leadership) the orderliness in us radiates. We were already excellent in Nigeria, excelling in Nigerian Universities, climbing the corporate ladder or successfully managing a business in that toxic Nigerian economy definitely shows we have that innate ability to compete... But definitely not orderly and forward thinking as a people.

The facts pointing to underdevelopment/backwardness in Africa cannot be overlooked. Talking about the whites erasing our history and all, I'll say we allowed it happen. Whenever this neocolonialism and stuff come up, I counter it by saying slave trade was ongoing in Africa before the colonialists came around (Efunsetan Aniwura Iyalode Ibadan, ancient warlords trading slaves as spoils of war etc...) they only took advantage of an existing culture.

Hopefully something would click someday in Africa and there'll be a major shift in our collective mentality and approach to life generally. That's the only way forward.

If I were you ,I would fly home to Nigeria, find a gynecologist who works in the Teaching Hospital or FMC of my state, go to his private clinic and get the surgery done. Its the exact same thing only cheaper and faster.
