Meta or twitter won't hire bartender directly to begin with. They would hire a consulting firm for their menial jobs i.e. outsourcing. The consulting firm would hire people for close to minimum wage that would do the job.

The way people working minimum wage or low wage survive is to share rooms or apartment with other people. Because that $1000 alone is your rent per month. A good examples are how Indian rent rooms. One person would rent a one or two bed room apartment, he would then bring 5-10 more Indians illegally of course. So they share the bills and rents.

A good example below. A basement is usually 1 or two rooms underground a house. Imagine 24 people sharing a room originally meant for 1 or two people. The rent for the basement would likely be around $2000/month excluding bills. A non-basement would be around $3000 and up per month excluding bills.
