Be careful, you may get exactly what you ask for.

In the North, those Fulani would never smell power again until Hausa in the Northwest, Kanuri in the Northeast and Beroni in the Northcentral have their turns.

In the Southeast, Igbo would never smell power until Igala, Onitsha and other minority got power.

In the Southsouth, Ijaw already had their turn. Time for other minorities like Efik, Ibibio etc.

In the West Yoruba will not get power until other Yoruba outside Ogun State got power.

Conclusion: I think this is the work of those who predicted that Igbo would not be President for the next godknowsyears!

clap for yourself! You reason just like an ant. This is about zones and not really tribes.

Everything I read daily about Nigeria shows that the end is near. And I will be so glad to witness the end of Nigeria.

If this bill is ed, believe me, it is the end of Nigeria. I do not see anything wrong in it, but I am trying to envision a Nigeria under Igbo and Hausa and Fulani will fold their hands. grin Honestly, this is the best strategy to divide Nigeria.

I was against the person who put this bill forward in my previous post, but now, I can see the hand of God in it. Nigeria is going down soon. And it will be the greatest news for me.

Kindly see your doctor ASAP.

We need regional government not power rotation it doesn't encourage development.

Ironsi should come and re-enact regionalism laws that he abolished

this Is The best way to go,it will bring unity. This is one thing pdp achieve in Delta state, and it is giving peace a chance.next zone to produce governor is delta south and it is between ijaw and isoko because itshrkiri have produce governor through uduaghan. This is the only opportunity for my idoma people to produce governor in Benue state. This is the only opportunity for okun people of kogi state to produce governor. We have many tribes that naturally it will be very difficult for them to produce governor or president because of population.

Lol!

If this was the case, El-rufai could not have been governor after Ramalan Yero and Kaduna could not have enjoyed development like it did.
There is no local government you won't find someone better then Elrufai

You are just sacred it would mean a Christan from southern Kaduna would rule Kaduna

Power rotation would actually guarantee we elect credible people

Once it's this zone turn we know it's all about selecting best candidate from that particular zone

I pray it doesn't work. Let the weaklings stay where they are and the strong get their dues

I find it very hilarious. There is nothing like "other yorubas". Yoruba is Yoruba. Cheers
But there are others in other tribes. Do tye Ijebus speak same language with their immediate kinsmen Egba, do the people of Ondo speak same dialect with their immediate kins Osun. Do tye people of Ekiti speak sake dialect with their immediate kins Ondo. Do the Ibadan speak same dialect with the indigenous Eko. Must times I ask if we truly have educated youths nowadays. The only people that speak the Yoruba language is the indigenous Oyo.

Who will ensure that the best candidate is selected? Do you have a process or system for that?

Or peter obi and ikpeasu, then what?

Devolution of power is the only thing that can save the country. Reduce power of presidency give local government more power to collect tax, let state control their resources.

Or give regional government.

naija4life247: 7:33am On Mar 14, 2024
Rotation of Power is being North and South, not between six fake zones.

Igbos will not get Power on the basis of rotation. Power will never be served on the table. You fight for it, you grab it, you snatch it, and you run away with it.

Not good...zoning brings incompetent people to power...once its their turn a goat will be selected ahead of a sheep because of turn...e.g okezie ikpeazu and ifeanyi ugwuanyi...it will also encourage tribal and nepotic governance...i sincerely hope this bill fails further readings..

Is there anything like geopolitical zone in our constitution? If no, it's an effort in fruitility. And if it is not added to the immediate requirement of becoming a president . Forget about it. Politicians are watching especially the greedy one, and all they care for is themselves alone

Why not attack the subject in front of you. Your rebuttals are amiss. Place valid reasons as against subject matter and stop making noise

This is the best approach to Nigerian unity and development. It comes with equity and justice and every Nigerian should it except those selfish people that wants Nigeria to be as it is now.
omohayek: 7:56am On Mar 14, 2024
Why does this bill stop at "geopolitical zones" which don't even exist in the constitution? Why not go all the way to demanding power rotation by state? Even better, why not make it "turn by turn" for every single LGA in the country, to be fair to all Nigerians who aren't from a "major tribe"?

This bill is utterly idiotic, an effort to advance mediocrity in the name of "unity". It deserves to die an ignominous death. Anyone who wants "zoning" is free to make such a choice at the ballot box. The last thing Nigeria needs is to further lower the already abysmal level of its political leadership by enshrining what is effectively a quota system for the top offices of the nation.

Exercise in futility cos the north will still obstruct it when it doesn't favor them.

No be Nigeria wey I know very well, abi Nigeria don change overnight
Corruption no go allow the bill to scale through.

The bill can be ed if ONLY ALL the SW, SS, SE and Middle Belt senators vote for it. That will give about 75 out of 109 votes in the Senate alone

Emilokan o is in every state, in Benue precisely the Tiv will not accept this bill happen.
Its always their turn to rule Benue. The other tribes are just observers.
