Honestly, all these result from imported cultures. No respect, No moral value, so so lazy a generation and surprisingly, they are being nurtured by the old generation.

Not really I'm a late millennial, and I can tell you gen z just don't give a fvck they hate stress and hard work, most of them rely on their mental strength than physical strength (this is not lazyness), genZ are busy making money with the Internet as we speak, na them go benefit from this rise of dollar and AI era

I'm a millennial but my four other siblings are gen z's lmao
Just like zodiac signs and all...
These logic don't really set the tone and precedence on how people behave or should behave its a matter of free will

Na so. one barged into my office and started looking for what was not lost, I sent him away like a dog and before you say "jack" he sent a mail to the MD that I didn't allow him access to what he needed to work with. Unfortunately, MD redirected the mail to me for "attention" grin. He was promptly given a 2-week working suspension for insubordination meaning that he would be coming to work wasting his transport fare and still will get half pay for that month. I initially thought he'll resign ni but alaye begged his life out.

Generation Z is the reason for the chaotic society we live in today. They want everything on the fastlane.

Most of them are....., especially those ill-bred children on Nairaland and other social media platforms.
They hardly read,. rude, identity crisis and hate taking correction.
Aside from that, they extremely smart, but their rudeness and foolishness is incurable.

Their behaviour always baffle me despite that majority of them come from an average home but they want to display affluent that their parents don't have. Just like one guy said, one just need to distant himself from them and let them display their stupidity. However, minute number of them are well cultured.

Surprisingly, North American GenZs fit into all you highlighted up there. I have often wondered what manner of generation they would produce!

Thank God I am not genZ, they are too rude and mostly their females don't have respect and tooo lazy

They feel as a man no matter your Age their pusssy and Manchester is older than you .
The best way to handle them is to pay them off . Or you marry them after two or three kids the Shakara will end that’ll reset their brains but don’t date them if you don’t intend to marry them , you’ll loose all your respect.

Those gen Zs are quite lazy, easily overwhelmed and give up easily. A couple of them that resumed work at my husband's office has frustrated their colleagues up to their necks. One doesn't know anything, for over 2 months he has not grasped anything. The most basic computer applications he doesn't know. The other one has never come to work for an entire week before, says he wants to work from home. Work you've not fully learnt. They're always complaining that they're being overworked and didn't sign up for this. Everybody knows they got the job through nepotism but how long they'll keep it is anybody's guess.

In recent years, there has been a significant focus on understanding the behaviors and values of Millennials and Gen Zs in the workplace. However, the reality is that workplaces today have a diverse mix of generations, each with its own unique set of values, priorities, and work styles. In fact, as of 2023, there are five different generations in the workplace.

For people managers, it's crucial to understand these differences to build a workplace where everyone feels respected and can collaborate effectively. This post offers practical advice on how to bridge the generational gap in your organization.

Understanding Generational Differences
Each generation has been shaped by unique societal, economic, and cultural influences, which affects their approach to work and how they interact with others.

There are Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Understanding the differences in experiences and values among these generations is important for ensuring cohesion and collaboration in the workplace.

Traditionalists (1925-1945)
Traditionalists, also known as the Silent Generation, were raised during challenging times, such as the Great Depression and World War II. As a result, they value hard work, loyalty, stability, and respect for authority. Traditionalists prefer structured environments with clear hierarchies and appreciate recognition for their long-term commitment and contributions.

Baby Boomers (1946-1964)
Baby Boomers grew up during a period of post-war prosperity and are known for their optimism and teamwork. They value career advancement and financial security, making perks like promotions and retirement benefits important to them.

Generation X (1965-1980)
Generation X, or Gen Xers, are self-sufficient and adaptable, having grown up in an era marked by social and economic change—dual-income households and more single-parent homes. They tend to be skeptical of authority and prefer self-directed work environments.

Millennials (1981-1996)
Millennials came of age in the digital era. They prioritize meaningful or purpose-driven work and value personal development, flexibility in work arrangements, and collaboration.

Generation Z (1997-2012)
Generation Z or Gen Zs had a rather diverse upbringing, so they value creativity, individuality, and purpose in their work. They are entrepreneurial and adaptable, with a strong focus on technology and innovation. Gen Zs appreciate financial incentives and healthy work-life balance.

Challenges of a Multi-generational Workforce
Having employees from different age groups in a workplace can bring about various challenges such as:

Misunderstandings
The differences in communication styles and preferences can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, as messages may be perceived or interpreted differently by different generations. This can cause problems between colleagues, potentially escalating into serious conflicts and hindering productivity and collaboration.

Different Work Styles & Expectations
Having a multi-generational workforce means dealing with different work styles. For instance, older employees may prefer clear hierarchy and guidelines, while younger ones might value more independence. Addressing the diverse expectations regarding compensation and recognition can also be tricky.

Problematic Stereotypes
Generational diversity brings age biases and misconceptions. For instance, older workers might think younger ones are lazy or too sensitive, while younger workers might think older ones are stuck in their ways and can't keep up with new things. Such assumptions could contribute to a tense, uncomfortable, or toxic work environment. These stereotypes could also cause unfair treatment among colleagues and potential legal issues.

Wahala ....this are mere speculation...human characteristics are home grown...if a family have a good value system and is able to it out to their wards ..it continue to flourish to some degree as it's been practised...except ofcourse if there's external influence such as peer pressure..etc ..
The whole Gen Z, Generator talks is fueled by unnecessary peer pressure.

By the way, I don't do tags.

I slapped one last year, it quickly jolted her back to reality. Anytime our paths wants to cross now, she waits for me to or go the other way. I no tolerate nonsense.

If this is true then you and your MD need to learn industrial relations.
I'm sure the "barge in" you said was probably because he didn't greet you.

And why will you chase him out like a dog because he was trying to look for what he needed to work with?
He lodged a formal complaint which was a very ethical move and was given a working suspension.
What exactly was the insubordination?

You too want to be trash talking your sister just because you're older, forgetting she's an adult like you.

Her manner of speaking to you was rude but it is excusable if she has respectfully spoken to you about it countless times without you budging.
