Following the controversy that trailed last Saturday’s governorship primary election in Edo State, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has declared the poll inconclusive.
This was disclosed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Tuesday after the leadership of the party had an emergency meeting with the NWC at the party secretariat in Abuja.
The poll, which was conducted on February 17 had produced three winners.
The Chairman of Electoral Committee of the primary, Governor Hope Uzodimma, had announced Dennis Idahosa as winner, while returning officer, Stanley Ugboaja, declared Monday Okpebholo as winner.
Elsewhere, Ojo Babatunde, who claimed to be representing the returning officers in all the local governments declared Anamero Dekeri as the winner of the election.
Following the confusion that ensued, both Dekeri and Okpebholo had written the appeal committee of the party to demand their certificates of return.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Morka disclosed that the election has not been completed, adding that the process will continue on Thursday.
He said, “I am here to give you the outcome of the emergency meeting of the National Working Committee of our party held today regarding Edo State governorship primary election.
“At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024 to consider the report on the Edo governorship primary election, the National Working Committee of our party deliberated and resolved that the governorship primary election has not been completed and has now fixed Thursday, February 22 for the completion of the APC Edo State” primary election process.”
Meanwhile, the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, had earlier congratulated Idahosa on this emergence as the party’s candidate.
It was nor clear as of press time what led to the decision of the party’s NWC led by Ganduje.

You are right and watching the videos of some of what happened with the counting of people, it was clear that they had to do something.
Wasn't Danko also already making noises about going to court?
What a mess, a complete and utter shambles.
I am sorry to say this but Bàbà Oshio once more has stuck his nose where it is not needed and his reputation might not survive this.

But just accept that your party can’t get anything right.
They failed in securing Nigerians.
Failed at the economy
Failed at organizing credible elections.
Now they can’t organize ordinary primary election.
Useless party that needs to be killed before it kills Nigeria.
I wish Labour Party can get the right candidate even though we all know that Asue Ighodalo is the next governor of Edo State.
Millions of APC vultures can’t outplay Obaseki.

I haven't seen any reason to believe that oshio hates esan people but it might be linked with his fight with anenih those days.but I know oshio is tribalistic preferring his etsakor people first..
The inec rec said he monitored primaries held at lushville and 6 to 8 lgas we're already collated before the invasion of thugs forcing them to flee and gather at iyamu's house, so I suspect they will continue from there or do a fresh primary entirely....but a fresh primary will still lead to different announcement of winners.the best thing is to do indirect primaries..

Okpebholo/Denco is a fair one which would appeal to Edolites across board.

I don't even understand how Oshiomhole would want want a Bini man to succeed another. In 2016 when people wanted to contest from Edo north he told them no, because he can't hand over to another Edo north person. So what changed now? Oshiomhole is self centred and anti democratic. I pray they gang up against him successfully tomorrow. He's doing too much.
A simple election, he's making it complicated.

I doubt. Both of them who are not politically sagacious in the first place were the primary cause of what ensued in the last Edo Guber election. They repeated it last weekend.
If they insist on such buffoonery in this attempt to amend cracks by players at the National level, in fact, they would be ignored just as the last time.
There are more important, pressing national issues than doing the bidding of one man who enjoyed the goodwill of his people, but repeatedly insists on paying back by imposing his interest on the same people.

Hope you how he was thrown out as national chairman a few years ago due to this his approach to politics.
