The former royal father stated: “I have been, over the years, talking about the pending crisis ahead of the current economic hardship. Any economist who has studied monetary policy in the last eight years knows that Nigerians will fall into this difficult situation.
“The difficult situation Nigerians are facing is just the beginning (if the right decision is not put in place) because Nigeria is not exceptional; such situations happened in , Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Venezuela.
“The previous istration turned adamant about our appeal for corrective measures (on the economic policy). I have said in the presence of the now sitting president in Kaduna state, any politician who tells you that things will be easy, don’t vote for him because he is lying. People merely dismissed my advisory as a political statement.
“If I am to be fair and just to President Bola Tinubu, he is not to blame for the current hardship; for eight years, we were living a fake lifestyle with huge debt from foreign and domestic debts. The Central Bank of Nigeria owes over N30 trillion, which resulted in debt service suring 100 per cent.
“I can’t other Nigerians criticising Tinubu on the current economic hardship, and I am not saying he is a saint free from wrongdoing, but in this current economic situation, President Tinubu is not to be blamed. I will also speak if I see any wrong economic policy of the Tinubu istration in the future
“It’s injustice for anyone to blame the Tinubu istration for the current economic hardship because there is no other alternative than the removal of the fuel subsidy. After all, Nigeria cannot even afford to pay the subsidy. In the last eight years, the Central Bank continued to print more money, and the Naira continued to depreciate. There is too much naira in circulation because the CBN is printing the currency without restraint.
“The economy was poorly managed, and they are not willing to take advice; in the last eight years, apart from sycophancy, nothing has been done; those sycophants are those buying the dollar at the rate of N400 and selling it at the rate of N600 to N700.
“A boy who has no record of service has a private jet and owns houses in Dubai and England just because he is buying dollars at so a rate and selling them.
“I can only plead with the people to endure the hardship, and those who have the means to help the downtrodden should do so.
“I am also pleading with commoners to live according to their earnings; we must not peg our lives above our earnings in this difficult situation where people are looking for what to eat.

Obi would have this n that what are Obi antecedent to justify all that you claim on his behalf if not tribalism n bigotry de worry you.

Was Obi appointment as governor not bias towards Catholic, did he not chase Igbos from other state away from Anambra civil service ? Did poverty rating in Anambra not increased under Obi ? Did he not increase tuition by over 300% ? Was he not caught looting ₦250 million monthly directly from Anambra secretariat to his warehouse at Orile in Lagos by Marvel Akpoyibo ? Was kidnapping n armed robbery not rampant under Obi as governor ?

So where n how did you arrive at Obi bringing Eldorado judging from his antecedent as spelt out here.

franchasofficia:
ing Tinubu based on whatever you believed he did as Governor was wrong cos he was young and agile then.

If he had became President in 2009 or thereabout it would have been a bit different but coming to contest for President of a complex nation like Nigeria at that age, mental state and unstable health condition was unfair to Nigerians.

Take it from me, if Obi was the President, things won't be as bad as this even though he may not have performed wonders but he wouldn't use appointment to settle his political allies and cronies like Tinubu did, and age is on his side too, plus he is Igbo a tribe Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas vowed that they will never rule Nigeria after the civil war, Obi would have tried all he could to make people regret not voting in an Igbo person as President all along, Obi would have worked so hard to prove people wrong.

Obi would have listening ear and reverse any negative policy that causes untold hardship to Nigerians knowing that he is an Igbo and Yorubas will rally Hausa-Fulanis against his government if he doesn't do well

that's a big lie, that tribe would have used that as an opportunity to rake and finish Nigeria totally because they feel it is their turn and they will recover what they were deprived of long ago. That tribe are the ones sponsoring all these negative acts, sabotaging the country to make it terrible. It will surely end to their defeat one day

That's not the rate. The rate is unlikely to breach the 1490 again. Pro government people pick the best possible rate while opponents of the government pick the worst possible rate. Truth is always a casualty in war.

The reality is that speculation has become a business for a minority while for a growing number inflation has made the USD national store of value.

There is nothing this government has done wrong, they might have done some things better but no impartial observer can fault their strategy.

The narrative is not innocent citizens vs wicked government. It is selfish and entitled but powerful minority of citizens vs an embattled government.

Strangely enough, the APC must be silently happy to have reached the bottom of public opinion so early in their first term.

_Mohammed Sanusi(Former Cbn Gov)

Idiotic reasoning there from whoever made the above comment.

'The current economic hardship' Nigerians are facing are a direct result of Tinubu's policies! Hurriedly removing fuel subsidy without providing any palliative and recklessly floating the Naira knowing fully well that Nigeria is an import dependent nation that will always need to sell the Naira in order to buy dollars and other foreign currencies in order to import over 90% of what it consumes. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that these two actions of Tinubu are capable of plunging the Naira and the economy into the abyss that we are seeing now!

On the claim that Nigeria cannot afford to pay subsidy, I don't think that is true. Subsidy itself was never the problem. The real problem with subsidy was the mind-boggling corruption behind it plus the fact that every government in power seems to lack political will to tackle the corruption because of fear of stepping on some powerful toes.

In the present state of the country's economy, uprooting corruption in the subsidy system and making sure all those involved in the corrupt activities are prosecuted and jailed would have been in the overall interest of Nigerians rather than removing the subsidy completely.

Below Is the answer with verifiable links to all your questions on the failure Peter Obi represent, I know it won't change you opinion due to tribal sentiment but it also will not change the fact Peter Obi is a failure. A ruse promoted base only on tribal n religious sentiment depending on who you talk to.

Peter Obi as no verifiable history of performance in governance this in addition to carefree looting of stats resource such as looted fund into his daughter Pandora .

Igbos justifies this claiming he own the before becoming governor if you are interested I have info the was not opened in his first term as governor but second term which is most when Nigeria govern loot ceaselessly n this after Marvel Akpoyibo commissioner of police Lagos state discovered his method of looting ₦250 million monthly from Anambra secretariat to his warehouse at Orile in Lagos.

Investing state fund into private business with no return like brewery, the 4 billion into Orient Petroleum Refinery which is yet to refine a single little of fuel till date etc. The list is endless.

Response- so if Lagos does this to Igbos in it civil service that is OK as well

Do you mind telling us with verifiable evidence what poverty rate was before Obi became governor and what it was after he left the office?

Response Verification

Findings by FactCheckElections revealed The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) National Poverty Rates For Nigeria: 2003-04 (Revised) And 2009-10. The report showed that Anambra State had 41.4% state-level headcount per capita poverty measure in 2003-04 and 53.7% in 2009-10.
https://factcheckelections.org/factcheck-did-the-poverty-rate-of-anambra-state-increase-during-the-tenure-of-peter-obi-as-governor/

Can you tell us with verifiable evidence how much tuition fee was before Obi became the governor and how much it was after he left office.

Resinse - The Education Rights Campaign (ERC) condemns the Anambra state government and the university management of Anambra State University (ANSA) for increasing the school fees from N36,000 to N86,000 for non-medical students, N120,000 for medical students.

https://saharareporters.com/2011/05/12/erc-calls-governor-peter-obi-and-ansu-management-revert-old-fees

Can you show us a video evidence to you claim that Obi looted the above amount monthly? Can you also tell us why EFCC and subsequent governors of Anambra state never bothered to probe and prosecute him?

Response - Then Lagos state commissioner of police Marvel Akpoyibo indeed caught Peter Obi personal governor's convoy red handed looting ₦250 million from Anambra secretariat to his warehouse at Orile in Lagos.

Extra Note - Pls not from the report by Vanguard you can not deny Peter Obi took ₦250 million from Anambra secretariat to his warehouse. I know you will claim he want to pay a contractor n all other rubbish but his ware in Orile is not the address of the contractor, which is aside why he could not lodge money into the of the contractor.

In Nigeria no contractor tells a governor how to be paid, governor tell them how n when so think of another lie.

Also not the police receives the intel from an indigene who felt Anambra might be looted to death with the monthly looting if it is not reported. We all know police no be witch to just know looting was going on. It was an insider that gave the police the Intel.

Can you tell us with verifiable evidence and link to the source of the information what kidnapping and robbery rate in Anambra was before Obi became the governor and what it was after he left office?

Response Below is Willy Obiano promising to end kidnapping ravaging Anambra after 8 years of Peter Obi failure at solving it on becoming a govern

Governor-elect of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, has assured that the incessant cases of kidnapping in the state would be put to an end under his istration which would commence on March 17, 2014

You might not understand. The official devaluation was deliberately done to close the gap with the parallel market. Right now there's no attraction going to the parallel market. When majority of the transactions are done with the authorised dealers the CBN policies can work.

They didn't use the word 'immediately'. Its true some of them promised to do away with subsidy but there is no guarantee they would actually go ahead with it and even if they do, I don't think they would have recklessly removed it with such urgency as Tinubu did without making sure there is enough palliative on ground to ease the impact of the subsidy removal.

Obi the importer with his "next" shopping centre that import everything would turn Nigeria into more production?😅 The one who was also absymal as a governor? That's why Zombiediente dey amuse me. Lol.

I always laugh when I see some BS from zombiediente. At times, I let it go and just laugh but at times, I set the record straight.

Just as you said, why was Awolowo, Mko
and Tinubu maligned exactly? Tinubu didn't rule anyone's papa nor was in any federal istration. Yet he was maligned by the
SE before the election. As a matter of fact, which SE governor has better legacy as a governor when compared to Tinubu who achieved a lot as Lagos state governor? Let's start from there. Meanwhile, Tinubu didn't rule anyone's papa nor was in the federal istration before the election. It was Peter Obi who was previously in the federal istration and was an accomplice to Madueke's looting as a matter of fact.

Second is Awolowo. What did Awolowo do exactly to warrant insult from the SE? He was even neutral in the civil war (whereas another person in his shoe wouldn't have been if we consider what the SE leaders did to him unwarranted yet he was still neutral until the covetous Greedy land grabbing thief, Ojukwu continued to push beyond his nose and matched into Midwest and the Southwest while attacking these neutral regions. So which lunatic was saying Awolowo shouldn't defend his Yoruba folks in their Yorubaland? Na craze? Heck, wasn't it SE who sstarted the war by the unwarranted killing of the regional leaders in every region except the southeast leaders?

Back to the economy of the nation, of course we know Buhari and his co- looters looted the treasury which they must return, it's also best Nigeria work towards restructuring and of course more production at home.

For example, there are 774 local government in Nigeria right? Each local government could have at least one large scale mechanized food crop farming in combination with an agro industrialization in each local government. The state governors also have to help with the federal government in this area.
