I went there and was told it’s ready. If your biometrics was done about a month ago, i will advise you go there and ask.

Good day everyone, my wife port expires, so she wanted to renew it ,and use the opportunity to change from her maiden name to my name, does anyone knows what she will be needing or how to go about it in the uk, I mean nigeria immigration London

Her processing start from NIMC center close to you. From the center, she will guided in what she needs to effect that change - publication, court affidavit, if she has any legal document that bears the names she's willing to change else statutory of age, NIMC enrollment form, remitta payment invoice (500 for change of name).

If all tenders are correct, she will be re-enrolled with the updated name

My concern now is that won't she be turned back for more changing her surname to mine, or she can go ahead and capture but change the name later in the future.

Her port will be issued with the surname on her NIN which should match the name on the application. A married woman is not obliged to change her surname after marriage.

The port will come with her maiden name. There's always option for maiden name in applications (visa or whatever) even when you're married.

To the best of my knowledge of how things "seem" to be working, the fact she was able to apply for her port on the portal implies her record of NIMC matches her existing record with NIS if she is doing a renewal. I think in both cases either for renewal/fresh, she should have started with updating her records in NIMC before proceeding.

Be it as it is, she can make inquiries at the capturing center before the capturing to update her records (on their portal - correctional data) alongside at NIMC or she proceed with this and upon next renewal those change can be properly made

I started my online port application in the month of November 2023. The price then was 25k. I've made payment.

I was immediately scheduled for capturing the next two days. I couldn't go because some of the required documents wasn't available at that time.

I've gotten all the documents ready except the guarantors form. From what I heard from people, the guarantors form is no longer required. But I visited immigration office in Enugu and they asked me to go get guarantors form, signed and stamped by the high court.

I've tried ing the guarantors form from the immigration website but the page returns nothing each time I click on the link.

I've searched the internet to see if I can find the guarantors form and but met with no success.

Please what advice can you give me?

Yes. It's DIY friendly. Very easy. You can go ahead and pay.

After successfully ing, take all the required documents, put them in a file together with their photocopies. Take it to immigration office for them to document. Then return on your appointment date for your capturing. Don't wear white top on the day of your capturing.

You will present both the originals and photocopies of all your documents.

When I did my online registration I ed NPC birth certificate. The next day I got a mail from immigration asking me to affidavit of age declaration. They said they don't accept NPC birth certificate.


It is after successful online registration that you think about appointment date for capturing.
