I don't understand so we have food reserve? So importation of food is an option that they closed border for years? So until people start dying that's when you the old system that works? Open border for food, it is a basic necessity for survival any other items should be heavily tax e.g phone, cars etc. 36 Likes 1 Share |

There are no food reserves in Nigeria. All silos are empty. Whenever there is a high cost of a commodity, the foolish people in power will blame hoarders. They blame hoarders for the high cost of getting dollars, they are now blaming high food prices on hoarders. Petrol is 680 naira per liter, oya blame hoarders. Cement sold at 7,000 -8,000 naira, oya blame hoarders. Bunch of clueless creatures. 95 Likes 4 Shares |

jmoore: Will you keep shut. Talking nonsense with confidence as if your mother's boyfriend is the security guard in charge of the Strategic Grain Reserves. On the other thread, you were saying the government should be sued for converting Dollars to Naira before payout. I then suspected that you are a blockhead. You now have confirmed it with this post. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

USELESS and Confused Govt with any economic plan for the Country. Next thing we will be hearing is that they are spending Dollars to import food and further worsen the Forex situation. The protest of hunger that people are crying about is not that there are no food, but rather it is because the food item have become too expensive. Instead of the Govt taking drastic actions at regulating prices and ensuring steady supply of foodstuff, they want to spend money to import. Mumu govt in power. 13 Likes |

Ha! With all the arable land in the country, and all the millions of jobless youth... how can food imports be our solution? I weep as I type this... Oh Lord, what is wrong with us? We are complaining of pressure on the naira, unemployment and loss of industries and still talking about food imports! Are these people OK? It takes a month to grow efo, 3-4months to grow maize, tomatoes and peppers and 8months to grow cassava and groundnuts. Start now and plant these in every available area, give grants, allocate lands to everyone who is interested and end this food insecurity once and for all but no, they are talking of food imports ![]() 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Wonderful! Who would have thought this government will be this bad? Completely bereaved of idea on how to move the country forward. In all the epistle, no mention of how much the released grains will be sold or any price control system in place that will crash the cost of food items in the market. Buckle up Nigerians, we are in - for a long ride. 🦶🦶 5 Likes 1 Share |

falconey:Buhari was a senile fool. He said Nigerians should die of hunger if they can't farm (said it literally oo, like, in an interview), but the funny thing here is that the sort of farm he always had when mind when he says things like this is hoe and cutlass farming, not mechanised farming like you would expect. He thinks farming hoe and cutlass can produce enough to feed Nigeria 8 Likes 2 Shares |

All these brain gymnastics and big grammar are purely waste of time, Govt should open Border and lift ban on food items ... that is the only move forces of our market will respond to
