Saudi Arabia has announced that it will allow its first alcohol shop to open in Riyadh, catering exclusively to non-Muslim diplomats. This is a historic change for the kingdom, which has banned the sale and consumption of alcohol since 1952. But what does this mean for the country's culture, identity and future? In this video, we explore the reasons behind this decision, the reactions from the public and the experts, and the implications for Saudi Arabia's social and economic development. We also compare Saudi Arabia's alcohol policy with other Muslim-majority countries and regions, and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Glimps of how MBS reign would be. Kind of liberal maybe due to the fact that he was educated in a Western system.

I see this as inclusiveness. Saudi Arabia wants to allow non-Muslims to eat what their religion allows.

But what about non-Muslims who are in Saudi priaons now because of the consumption and sales of alcohol? Will they be freed?

As the years go by, things like these are bound to happen.

Besides, it's weird that religious fanaticism and terrorism still thrives in 21st century, just so weird.

Why do Christians celebrate legalization of Alcohol. I'm forced to believe the rumors that they guzzle Alcohol in their Churches. Pathetic.

Is about freedom of choice not necessarily alcohol that's why Christianity ticks.

Nowhere in the World is Freedom entirely absolute.
Without rules and regulations, humans will live like animals.
From the beginning of time different societies have always had peculiar Laws that govern them. If you are not comfortable with the Law, then you emigrate.

If not hypocrisy, why ain't drug pushers/s allowed to do their thing since there's "Freedom of Choice"?

And again, Christianity doesn't tick shit. Christianity has always been known to be a Conformist religion. Even the Bible is constantly 'revised' to correct the 'mistake that God and his Angels made' so as to fit into the current societal debauchery.
Alcohol and nudity has been legalized in the Church and now the Pope has also legalized Sodomy. What an aberration.
