Sigh... This man's coaching career is finished.

All the way from one EPL and lower Division English club, to being sacked by a lowly nation in Africa.

Where does he go from here?!!

Honestly, what was Ghana hoping to achieve with a less than average English manager?!

A nation with the quality of experience and exposure like Ghana should stroll into the Semis of this competition... They should be rubbing shoulders with Senegal and Morocco.

Africa it's high time we do away with foreign coaches so many ionate coaches in our local league

Its not about ion but having the technicalities and exposure.

How many Nigerian coaches have that? Majority of Nigerians will tell you they have ion for football, but that does not make you a coach. A team needs a manager who is experienced with the technicalities about the game. Discovering talents and knowing their varying compatibilities with regards to his tactics and opponent.

Managing a team takes great deal of knowledge and exposure.

Personally I do not think it's a good idea to have sacked the coach, where is the time for rebuilding? We do not have to always sack coaches for one time poor performance in a competition, they should be given time to rebuild and learn from their mistakes.

Even with that they even played better than Nigeria

They didn't play better than Nigeria, results is what matters most in competitive games.

Nigeria coach and his team employing technic that will enhance winning against each opponent. hence, it's not about beautiful football, it's about understanding their players capabilities and techniques that is proper against opponents.

You made some valid point though but we need the much improvement in Africa football as a whole and that is we all have been clamouring for

Chris has not been fortunate in His coaching career...he failed serially in EPL when he was the only black coach at that level...I used to feel very sorry for him.
Going forward, I think He should consider scouting or other football business given his experiences

Andre Ayew was foaming and blaming his teammates until he handed d ball in his box causing a costly penalty.

Those two Abedi Pele sons should be shown the way out of the national team immediately.
Then Ghana should start rebuilding from the scratch.

His not his fault. It's the fault of that goalkeeper. His error cost him his job

So you would rather be in their shoes since they “played better”?

Mumu.

I suppose it never occurred to you that Nigeria is still in the tournament because of a more cautious defensive game she’s played that has made her nearly impossible to beat?

Thoughtless kid.

I feel for Ghana. Conceding 2goals in injury time & getting knocked off, is sheer bad luck.
Same injury time they conceded against Cape Verde & lost.

Na so.

If that was Super Eagles, would you say the same thing?

Foreigner worshipping self haters.

Why don't they sack the unserious players? Why must the coach take the blame all the time? The second goal was caused by the goalkeeper. Why is nobody talking about that?

Haven been opportuned to travel to Ghana several times, I can tell you their mumuism is spiritually ordained. Chris Hughton hadn't been terribly poor in his recent outing at the AFCON. But the issue of spiritually ordained mumuism resurfaces.

The entire blame lies on the mumu players. From the captain whose mumuism led to the penalty and Gk whose mumuism was at overheating that day by turning a ball clearly going out of play and to your advantage into another epic of spiritually ordained mumu goal. Two harmless balls converted to 2 mumu goals within the blink of an eye. And their reaction is to sack Chris Hughton. Another mumu act.
