Thanks for your response.my wife is the student and her company wants to offer sponsorship but they said our her brp is expiring September despite getting a confirmation of graduation from her school. We expected that since she has opted to graduate, our visa should have been curtailed and our brp should not show September again but company refused unless we get a prove from home office.since company refused unless they get a prove from Home office and we have up till end of January to switch our visa, can only her switch to PSW while dependant switch after the COS is out.thanks
ReesheesuKnack:

When you said curtailed, curtailed by who? The Home office? Or the school?

The last bit of your post is so confusing.
Between you & your wife who is the student?
Who has a COS pending?
The school does not need to curtail your wife’s visa at all. The school only needs to confirm to your wife. In writing that she has completed her studies. Once that is confirmed, any company can give her a CoS for any type of SWV.

To summarise:
Your wife should get a letter of confirmation of completion of studies from her school. It is that confirmation that is required for a switch, not a BRP end date.

URGENT PLEASE
Hello everyone. Please, my wife and I just relocated to the UK under the skilled visa. Though, I am the dependent here but I already got a job too. Right now, we are yet to secure our accommodation but we are seriously working on this. The issue is that we still have our kids with the grandparents back in Nigeria and we hope to have our kids us soon. We have paid all the visa fees, and we are looking forward to booking their biometrics. However, we are contemplating that both grandparents retired (grandpa doesn't like travelling, he has only gone out for pilgrimage) or only grandma, who has more travel history ( she has been to Uk once, Qatar once, SA and UAE twice) accompany these kids to the UK by applying for visitor visa for them. What are the chances that both granparents will be given visa or grandma alone? Also, do we need to book the kids biometrics with the grannies for higher chance or we need to book their biometrics separately? Then what are the other things to consider so to have a successful visa for them? Will be counting on the wealth of experience here. Thank you and God bless!!

My brother, this company that gave your wife employment. It’s either they are grossly incompetent or they are absolutely out-of-touch.

Does your wife have proof from her school that UKVI has been notified that she has completed her studies? Have the school sent her details to IKVI? Has the school formally notified your wife that having graduated. she is now eligible to apply for PSW? (I know a lot of schools take that step of proactively notifying graduates).

A holder of one visa type can always apply for a different visa type. It is the application for a new one that will always lead to a curtailing of an existing one.

Please, me and my wife are on Tier 2 Visa and we had a baby 6 months ago here in the UK.
Do we need to apply for dependent visa for our baby or visa is not required?
And if visa is required, do we get our baby a Nigerian port or is the visa application done with just birth certificate?
Thanks in anticipation!

You only need to apply for him/her if you plan to travel out of the UK with the baby before ILR happens.

Yes you need a port to apply.

Babies born in the UK can apply for a visa using their birth certificate. Having a port is not compulsory.
Been there, done that

Be careful when you tick locked garage etc etc ..... If vehicle is stolen at home and the insurance assessor checks your property and vehicle was parked on the road........

Your insurance would be voided......... Oti je gbèsè ní yín ...... Ka shiga bashi......... eji m ụgwọ........ 😁🤣😜

Some insurance companies even ask you for proof of your locked garage. One should avoid telling lies to reduce insurance .

One way that helps, according to folks, is by getting a quote on iral website and then calling them to discuss and negotiate the and bring it down.

Halo.

How can I add a spouse to my skilled work visa?
I just switched from study visa to Skilled work visa.

I used an agent to help me switched. But for my spouse, I want to do it on my own without her attending biometrics.

Thanks!

There are these perfumes they sell in Poundland for £1. You can buy up to 40 if you wish. You have to hunt for it cos the run out of stock easily.

You can get packs of face towels in Primark too.

For Mumcy, uou can select some good gowns from SHEIN.

Instead of chocolates and candy, if there are children, you can throw in some Multivitamins from Aldi.

If there is a Dad back home expecting gifts, you can go to Lidl and get some variety of nuts.

These are just random ideas... Look out for things on sale in shops like Primark - Kids clothings and shoes, Tshirts, handbags, headscarfs, toothpaste, etc.

to stay within budget, people back home don't care. As long as it's abroad item, they'll be glad they were ed.

Nice, maybe things have changed. We were definitely asked for the port in 2018 and subsequently for renewal.

@originalposter just kuku and simulate an application to see what docs are required. It’s free.

Good evening everyone.
Please I need suggestions.

I did my biometric at the Nigeria High Commission on Nov 22 and my port was to be delivered on the 19th of Jan 2024. This is what my portal looks like after tracking it.
