If you have all the documents to prove the 6 years, you can go through RpL with ACS. Check their website for more info.

Hello house I have a Bachelors of Engineering 5 years from Uniport. And also have a Bachelor's of Honours in Education 2 years ( Equivalent to level 7 Australia) from UK with initial teachers training and 45 days of teaching practice. Will I get a positive outcome fro AITSL.

My bachelors from UK was supposed to be 3 years but I had 1 year recognition of prior learning.

Someone please help analyse my case.

Hello gurus in the house!

I will appreciate an explanation and further clarification as regards the skills assessment of teachers by AITSL, because I am stuck on my findings/research and do not know how else to proceed.

Firstly, I have two certificates in Business Education as a Secondary school teacher; NCE and B.Sc(Ed), with the latter from UNN, however, I have what I fear might be a loophole, as my B.Sc(Ed) which is a double honors certificate was undergone for a period of 3 years, which stemmed as a result of having a prior NCE certification, which was also studied for a period of 3 years.

Now, my questions:
•Will I be able to assess my qualifications for a positive response with AITSL, using my B.Sc(Ed) which was studied for 3 years, cos my transcript actually shows my years of study as 3 years as against 4? Coupled with the factors of AQF and the Tier 1 and 2 grading system, do I tend to stand a chance?

•Or, will I have to both the transcripts of my NCE and B.Sc(Ed), to make it up for the missing one year?

•Or, should I simply undergo a PGDE programme, to augment my B.Sc(Ed), and cover up for the loophole?

I haven't written the English proficiency test (IELTS), however I am willing to give it a shot and I am optimistic that I will scale through.

I also have over 3 years experience as a teacher, post-graduation.

If there's any one who's had an experience of this or know someone with a first-hand information as regards this matter, I will really appreciate your help and advice.

Good day people,

Please if someone applies for a course that’s not on the PR list or the skilled occupation list for migration and ends up working in a job (let’s assume the job is on a work visa) that’s not on the same list.

Is there any other pathway to become a permanent resident? Or must the person switch to an occupation on the list?

I’m asking because an agent is asking my partner to apply for master of public health (bachelors in health background) or financial crime and fraud investigation (current job industry) but I don’t see a path to the future PR with these occupations.

Let’s assume she’s sponsored by her company, is there another way to get PR asides the SOL?

Why is she letting the agent dictate what she should study? The agent won't pay the fees and feel the struggles.
Some occupations on the list are finding it hard to get PR ( I've seen people waiting for 2+ years), what happens if her occupation is not on the list, go figure!

Sincerely no one can tell you specifically if it will fly or not cos I haven't seen anyone with the exact same profile.
I will suggest you get your English score and put in an application to AITSL> Ensure you choose the Bachelor odf Education as your ITE in your application not the Engineering one. Also, you can write a letter of explanation indicating you went through RPL. It's likely going to fly because the two countries both operate similar education system.

@bellong

You won't be able to assess with AITSL. NCE does not meet the criteria neither does a 4 year Education degree from UNN meet the criteria. Either way, you are not eligible.
PGDE won't help also.

Your best option, explore student visa - Masters of teaching or try another country. If you are married and your partner has a skilled occupation/experience, then they might be the primary applicant

Age: 27

I have over 5 years of proven experience in chemical plant operations with Anzsco code of 399211 while I have both bachelor and masters degree in chemical engineering with Anzsco code 233111. My years of work have been in operations and not process design which is mostly the job description of a chemical engineer.

Please advice what to do. I am confused as to which assessment to do.

I will suggest, you assess as a Chemical Engineer.

The below is the role of a chemical Engineer as obtained from Anzscosearch:

"Designs and prepares specifications for chemical process systems and the construction and operation of commercial-scale chemical plants, and supervises industrial processing and fabrication of products undergoing physical and chemical changes. Registration or licensing may be required."

As you can see on the bolded above, plant operation is also a role of a Chemical Engineer. As a plant operator, I will suggest you tailor your experience to fit the role of a chemical engineer order than a plant operator, as operation of plants is also a role of a Chemical engineer.

You can tailor your role to match a Chemical Engineer if your experience is verifiable to be able to claim that point for that 5 years experience.

Internal auditor - Vetassess
External auditor - A, IPA or CAANZ and they all require a degree in ing only or ACCA

Good day All,

I have a B.A. in Literature in English from OAU, PGDE from NTI, wrote IELTS and got a score of LRWS-8.5, 8, 7, and 8.
I have all the documents ready for the assessment, except my PGDE certificate. I got a Notification of Higher Degree letter from Unilorin, since that's where my certificate will be issued from (NTI d).

Will this yield a positive outcome?

Please, anyone with a similar issue?
Please help a sister.

There is no one in similar situation that i know but it should work for you. Your first degree is a tier 1 and you have PGDE transcript + certificate.

I am not sure how this will work. First and second degrees are not related to production engineer. HE can go with the engineering technologist. that should work

Hey bro, i'm literally just seeing this response. I took a break to focus on my domestic career as "a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" lol but I would pursue this course profile recommendation of yours. For some reason, I cant find the report in my mail, sincerely hope I didn't delete it out of frustration. I'll get back to you. Thank you so much.

NB1912:

Sorry to hear about your negative outcome. I have a few question which might shed some light to your case.

1. Can you post a screenshot of your assessment result removing any personal details?
2. How many ICT units did you undertake as part of your degree? Can you list them including the unit code? Does it have at least 33% of ICT content? Or is the ICT content at least two thirds of your degree?

I always advise people who have engineering degree and want to apply for ACS assessment to also submit a course profile. This is because there are some courses which might include ICT content but not listed as ICT in your transcript, hence, ACS would miss this. You can always get a course profile from your university.

You can go for a review once you lay your hands on your course profile. I am almost certain that there is enough ICT content in an ELect/Elect degree from Covenant University.

PS: I have just google elect/elect courses at Covenant university and I can see a lot of your courses are related to ICT. However, because of their naming convention ACS might not know they are ICT courses. Hence, the reason why it is very important to provide a course profile along with your application. Please get your course profile and go for a review.

Thanks for keeping this thread active. i have been following from part 1.

Quick question: I seem to have hit a road block. I have a degree from Covenant university where i studied HR. I also have about 8 years experience in that line. i want to submit an assessment with VETASSESS but i read somewhere in this thread that my school degree will be regarded as associate degree. All positions available for me to apply for 491 require BSC equivalent. What can i do?
I want to nominate Human Resources Advisor or Workplace Relations Advisor.

Hi,
What is your status on the below now?

Happyfellow147:
Hello everyone,

Please pathway what do you advice I take for Australian PR?
I'm a chartered ant, worked for 7+ years and currently studying for MSc in Finance in the UK, would be done by the end of the year.
Hubby is a lawyer, he has less than 1 year of legal practice experience but is doing care work here in the UK.
I'm also doing care work here as well and in addition to my Finance background, I'm taking courses in data analytics. My age range is 30-35.

With my experience in the UK, I really don't want to go to any country via study route except it's my last option.
Can I get PR to Australia?
Can anyone help with guidance?

CU is a tier 2 university and your occupation is a level 1 occupation; so it will be a negative assessment due to qualification not at the required level.
