I have been saying it, I have never been impressed with Osimhen's performances in the Super Eagles. A player of his Caliber shouldn't be caught offside that number of times and that clear chance, haba. What a miss. This was a game we could have easily won.

What makes him one of the best is the combination of his ridiculous work rate,pace, pressing, aerial ability and just hustling. These create goal scoring chances in every game. However, his finishing is average (neither great nor poor). He's most definitely not a Lewandoski, Kane, Benzema or Haaland etc.

He will miss more chances than he scores. He always has...

Iwobi was excellent in the midfield today. He gave about two defense-splitting es to Osimhen and another wonderful to Sanusi. He should have had up to three/four assists in this game.


Unfortunately for him, Osimhen forgot his goalscoring boots at home.

How many key es did he make to his forwards? Too lazy to mark, press or pursue the ball. Gets lost in midfield. Easily gases out.

He doesn't attack Nwakali. He attacks the hype and justifiably so. Cos though I have repeatedly said Nwakali should be invited so we judge from his performance, the way some people praise him to high heavens like he's Zidane certainly makes others to raise eyebrows.

I just told you that he created at least three goalscoring chances for his teammates, which they all missed. What else do you want from a CAM?


The number one job of a CAM is to create chances for his teammates, and that's exactly what Iwobi did.


If his teammates had scored, by now, we would have been praising him for his assists. The problem was not Iwobi; the problem was his teammates( Osimhen and co) who failed to score the chances he created for them. Iwobi did well.

Over reliance on a sole striker caused us this game. Why should the wingers be ing to a Striker all the time?
Why didn't Chukwueze shoot when he had the opportunity? And on that still gave a wrong to Osimhen!
This shows lack of confidence and this is the driving force Why they loose focus on the final third. Except for players like Lookman and Boniface who can't play SS to any Striker because they too aim for the goal also, you can call it selfish but it builds there confidence and this also makes them lead roles in their respective clubs. That's the reason why it's hard for them to partner Osimhen.
The coach should allow players to take opportunities if they are in the position to do so otherwise the opportunity will capitalize on your target and kill off that player with every opportunity.

That is a system that needs to be improved upon. I for one enjoyed the match cos I could at least see that we were not over run in the middle of the park. We took the game easy while sloppy es were still visible. We did well. We just need to take our chances. We might not be so lucky in other games as a chance taken is what makes the difference. All it takes to win afcon is 1 nil in all games
