Just applied for a port renewal this morning. For DIY folks what documents do I need to take for capturing? Do I need a guarantor for renewal? If yes can I get it stamped at the immigration office or do I need to go to court? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. |
ekitimanalways(m): 9:19pm On Dec 30, 2023 |
lovewins: Copy of online application form. Payment receipt. Acknowledgement slip (if you paid through the bank). Original and photocopy of NIN slip. Copy of the data page and last page of expired port. The port you want to renew. Hand written application letter. 2 colour port photographs. Appointment slip. Please note that the guarantor's form and state of origin certificate are not required for renewal. 3 Likes |

Hello, i am a fresh applicant and my capturing is tomorrow at Alausa. just saw now that my 2 port photograph requested needs to be endorsed by my guarantor. is this really necessary?
|
QuackedOlive: 8:39am On Jan 04, 2024 |
Ayetobi92: Not your port. The guarantor will endorse his own port photo. |

From the information I got, I learnt they will reduce the years on port to 3 years and fees increased. I'm not that sure if this information is real or not but I can only suggest to anyone interested in applying for port should do so fast...

Hi guys, I’m trying to put my plans up for relocation and I’m starting with getting my Nigeria port . I want to know if it’s possible for me to get it done myself without going to their office in Warri, delta state. Is it advisable and what is the duration to finally have my port delivered to me or be ready? Is Warri office DIY friendly? Any idea or assistance will be greatly appreciated |
lovewins: 3:25pm On Jan 04, 2024 |
Laudbtc: If you mean ing without going to their office, then yes you can do that online. You'll however need to visit the immigration office to get captured. Can't speak to the duration, but this nairaland thread inspired me to DIY the first time I got my port in 2018. I chose the headquarters in Abuja and didn't pay more than the official amount at the time save the 500 naira I gave an immigration guy who was helpful to me at the headquarters. I got my port in 2 days. I just got back right now from the immigration office at Akowonjo to get captured for my new port. I DIY again and didn't pay anybody except the 500 naira I used to get a file. Hopefully will get that one soon too. We should all encourage Nigeria to be better by doing it ourselves. So I'll encourage you to give it a try. Also, experiences vary from persons to persons. All the I got on twitter for the Akowonjo office for DIY people was negative. I almost booked my flight to go do it in Abuja cause I'll rather pay 200k to fly to Abuja than pay any immigration officer here. I was that determined. I however decided to give akowonjo a try and I had a smooth experience. Nobody requested for money and it was pretty fast too. So give warri office a try. 4 Likes |
