The only Way out from this ugly issue of fake product is life imprisonment or dead sentence as punishment that's the only way out for it.

Each state will have their own version of NAFDAC soon. Power must be decentralized completely, we need change from grassroot.

Nwanyiogwashi: Nigeria is decay from from top to bottom...! Until the purge start from the very top..nobody can do anything...!! Imagine a criminal who stole election would be provided with state apparatus and security to be moving about and parading himself...!! What do you think the other citizens would do...!!? If the Nigerian state can honour criminals and call them, your excellency, Honourable etc, who won't want to follow suit...?? If you can steal your way into power and the Nigerian state sees nothing wrong with it, then every other individual would want to follow same route to operate too...!!! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

The perpetrators of this crimes goes beyond the ordinary workers you see in these factories. Higher ups are major beneficiaries of it and with I’ll gotten wealth. Fake product isn’t much different from those who still import hard drugs into the country which is equally destroying lives. Such laws won’t even go through because the people giving directives are some of the law makers . Have you ever wondered why a kidnapped victim family will be requested to pay a ransom through the bank and yet, such persons most get away with it without any apprehension ? The system is way too rotten to be salvaged. An humble appeal ma, you’ve used your good position and personality as a person to help lots of nairalanders ma, please I’m a fellow deltan and seriously in need of any state or Federal government job to get by daily and better equip myself . I have a 2.1 in public health and also hold a masters degree in public health also. Please and quote me for any openings ma. Thank you and compliment of the season to you and your family |

Nwanyiogwashi:NAFDAC should be given prosecutorial power and be expanded to have more staff. NAFDAC should get percentage of the VAT, like 50 kobo, so they can be able to generate what could cater for the proposed expanded manpower. If we're not too heartless, why would people be making fake products from a dirty place? The buyers should lose it and their shops closed, then the producers will stop producing if they don't get buyers. Everyone should buy from the true source. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Nwanyiogwashi:I see comments about NAFDAC and I'm forced to ask if fake products only applies to drugs? Inferior products are been sold in the organization ranging from foods, medicines, electronics, spare parts of whatever is repairable, etc. Regulating agencies like NAFDAC, SON, etc. need to clamp down on these manufacturers and exert strong measures to discourage others. Also, our standard of living needs to improve so fake products distribution can be greatly reduced. The reason why you see the same product (with different brand of course) selling for different prices is because these producers are trying to cater for every level of economic class, most especially the lower levels. This wide difference has given them the avenue to imititate great brands and produce inferior ones.. Meanwhile Nwanyiogwashi, it's been a while since you typed on Nairaland. I hope you are good? Wishing you and your family a joyful Christmas and a fulfilling year ahead. |

Don't mind Nigerians they should have elected a Pandora criminal instead so he can keep looting ₦250 million weekly with his convoy to his warehouse in Lagos like Peter obi was caught red handed looting by Marvel Akpoyibo then Lagos commissioner of police. Floky215: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Nwanyiogwashi: It will not solve the problem. It will only make the perpetrators craftier. They will think of and deploy new strategies to ensure they get away with it. What I will suggest as an alternative is to empower the ordinary people on the street with the right knowledge to know how to detect fakes. Nafdac/SON need to be alive to their responsibilities, they need to put more effort into sensitising the public about fake consumables and how to spot them. Most importantly, the manufacturers of the original products should also step up and be more visible. Proper visual merchandising will help to weed out the unscrupulous individuals involved in this detestable practice. |
