Way to go Canada! Keep pressing our necks. Let other foreign nations follow suit. If not this generation, then maybe the next generation will put their foot down and say enough is enough.

What happened to the young farmer?
nedekid:
Lolz, farming in naija is for old retired men doing it as a hobby.
In my early 30s, I did farming and it burnt my hands, almost turned me to an old man. My paddy that left his manageral level in a multinational to go into large scale farming, I did not know how to warn him let it not look as if na bad belle. Today, that guy despite investing billions, if you see him? He has aged 20 years! When ever he comes to town, he must spend few days in hospital, white hair all over and skinny. If not for his firearm, bros would have been dead. Twice all his Togo workers fled, yes Togo because Nigerians are scared of working there due to heardsmen attack so my paddy has to bring in novice togolease. When they too saw the danger, they japa! My guy sleeps in the bush at night, not the farm house, why, so he will not be ambushed! He changes spot every night.
Cost of diesel nko, to run farm equipment or transportation, which farmer can afford 1 liter at 1200,1300? What are you planting?
Go and read about that young great Yoruba guy, rotimi that had one of the biggest rice farms in naija, somewhere up north. He was the toast of the media few years ago. It was sweet at thee beginning; https://www.forbes.com/sites/mfonobongnsehe/2016/06/27/meet-the-36-year-old-entrepreneur-who-owns-nigerias-2nd-largest-rice-farm/?sh=73432c684dd6
7 years later, eye don clear. Imagine the debt this guy must be in. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-65728764
My bloda, plant in your backyard, farm for leisure, have some chicken in your garden or pen, grow some goats, pigs etc.
But to say you take loan, invest your capital, savings, pension etc into farming hoping to cashout or make a living? My brother, you are on your own, as Edo man will say "na die you de" lol.

What is the difference between university and college in canada?
drhammed:
Things are changing super fast!
1) Quebec govt recently announced tuition hikes for out-of-province and international students in English schools in Quebec
2) Yesterday, IRCC announced a 2X increase in Proof of funds for International students
No one can predict what's going to happen in the coming months, but if I may advise-
A) Consider applying for Scholarships- if you have a high-ranking scholarship, you've solved >50% of the Canadian visa problem.
B) Consider applying to Universities with low tuition (& email Professors there). E.g., Memorial University. University of Manitoba also has a differential waiver for PhD programs (I.e., you pay as local students), and I think McMaster University does too.
C) Applying to colleges isn't the way to go now! They don't offer scholarships, so how do you intend to convince VO that it's worth spending >40k CAD for a one-year program, and you don't have the equivalent in your country? Purpose of visit!
D) Apply to college if you have low grades that won't qualify you for MSc ission (and tie your SOP to that direction). This way, the VO will be convinced of your intent to study in Canada.
E) Be strategic! This is not the time to do anyhow (in fact, a tweet by the Minister yesterday night hinted at this)! An advanced-level degree will likely increase your chances of getting a visa with how things are going!
F) Again, apply for scholarships— I can't stress this enough. E.g., Mastercard Scholarship, Mitacs, Vanier, Trudeau, among others.
Last but not least, DO IT YOURSELF and submit the correct documents. At this point, IRCC may be doing thorough reviews of applications, and any fake submission may lead to a 5-year ban.
As usual, I'll be posting more scholarship opportunities on my page, and I hope you find one that interests you.
N.B.- I'm not an immigration consultant or agent- I only share all I know about SCHOLARSHIPS and, specifically, Canada.
Good luck!

There are no jobs in canada?
Omoawoke2:
After school, they can get PR, they can get jobs in the range of 90k to 150k dollars.
It is tough while in school, but the return on investment is worth the investment.
The biggest investment anyone can make currently is investing to start earning in fx. And through school is still the most rewarding one.
Degree is permanent, you can use it for the rest of your life to always progress in careers

You are bloody liar, pay off my foot. Anyone that pays N30 million to get a student visa is a big compound fool. Which money are you going to be making as a student in the US, Canada and the UK to come and be flexing in Nigeria.

Canadian market is far more favorable and rewarding than Nigerian market
People will say entrepreneurship is the way. But in Nigeria, it’s not always true. How much do you want to realize that wil match a professional in US or Canada
End of year is here, many Nigerians working with advanced degrees are getting bonuses alone that covers everything some people have worked for in 5 years in Nigeria

OLODO RABATA!
BlueStripper:
At the end of the day, the world will feel the impact of their evil deeds in Africa.
You sanction African countries and impose economic embargos, yet expect them to remain in the land? That's thinking like a typical western bigot.
You spearhead warfare in Sahel Africa for arms export and exploitation of natural resources thereby causing unrest and economic instability. Still in your crazy minds, you expect the people to remain?
Someday, you will see mass migration from all corners. Africans will develop helium balloons just to fly and land in your backyards.
Someday, what you thought was an UFO will be a shipload of Africans coming over to wreck your "Beautiful Homes" .
Your Refugee camps will be overcrowded. Your law enforcement will be overwhelmed.

Yea, more like a POLYTECHNIC but not a direct substitute! After high school, you do a pre-university college program. Those colleges award diplomas, certificates and whatnot!
