I fixed a similar problem on 2008 Acura MDX. You might have the same problem.

Yes break in for engine is between 500 to 1000km. I will advice you do as instructed by the mechanic to change the oil in a week, to avoid "had I known"

Also don't rev the engine 2k rpm till all settle in.

Have an electrician check your wiring to your camshafts sensor and knock sensors, if they're good, buy tokunbo sensors that is removed from a tokunbk engine.

When did this start?
I fixed a similar problem on 2008 Acura MDX. You might have the same problem.


It started recently, l don't know what prompted it, l always remove one terminal of the battery whenever l park it and it's very embarrassing. A rewire is working on it now.

Ok. The oil I bought was mobil 1000 20w50.

Engine recommended oil 5w20.

After the rebuild, I was confused which oil to buy from 20w50 or 5w30. Because engine has been using thicker oil. And I think I bought the 20w50 because of the crankshaft because the engine has been using thinker oil and we didn’t change anything from the crankshaft like metal.

What we change was rings and valve seal, then grind the valves.

There is this noise coming from the top..
But the people that ring it told me the sound is not from the engine itself. They said to use it like that for sometime it will clear.

But yesterday i took it to another mechanic to help me check the tapping sound. The man said its from the top cylinder cup. He said it look like oil is not circulating well enough. My first time of hearing the word cup. He said i should drive it for sometime or i can top it with oil treatment it will stop.

I was thinking if to add mobile 5w30 or oil treatment will stop that noise?

We can't diagnose sound online, it is a physical inspection thing. Also top cylinder might need to come off for inspection to determine what is causing sound.

thanks but i know all that. we only change the valve seal. Its the same engine i was using before. A Very silent engine. What’s likely cause of noise after valve oil seal change?

Everything inside the engine can cause noise, even a forgotten foreign body inside when bolted back can cause it too.

Noise needs physical inspection to determine like I said I can't categorically pinpoint the issue because valve seal was worked on

Toks is better. The ones you see on Jumia are most likely fake too. Let him get the toks, install it, then we'll see what happens after.

Check around the catcher that holds down the bonnet, if you find an unplugged connector there, please reconnect it. If you don't, then you might need someone to physically carry out parasitic draw test.

Hello, my good people.

So I'm a first time car owner (since February of this year) and I'm in a distressing situation.

I own a Hyundai Elantra 2015 model and the original compressor for the car go damaged sometime in May. The technical told me it would be impossible to get a manual Hyundai compressor and the automatic compressor won't last and was expensive. He ended up constructing and fixing a Peogut compressor.

Ever since then I noticed that the vibration of my car increased, although it's negligible but the car's sound has changed.

Fast forward to date, I started hearing a knocking sound when I turn on the car. I took it to my mechanic and they said the sound is coming from the compressor and not the engine. The disconnected the fan belt so the pulleys were not turning and the sound wasn't there.

I spent around 20k just yesterday trying to fix the sound and I just wasted my money. The AC guy said the bearing and pulley of the compressor is bad, so he changed it but yet the sound is still there.

At this point I'm getting fed up. Please has anyone been in the same situation or experienced the same issue?

Replace the AC compressor with the type that is meant for your car brand new.

I took my car to car wash 3 days ago
After the boy wash the car finished he uses the dashboard spray he saw inside my car. I never told him to spray it oh.

He empty the full can all over my dashboard and 4 doors.

Since then my stereo has been malfunctioning. I can't play FM/music anymore. It look like more than one button is on standby. It just keep turning and switching.

I thought it will work by itself after a day or two. But it's already 2 days. I am just sad men. Driving no longer fan as music cannot be played

Is there any way I can solve this?

No name of car, no model of car. No pictures of the type of audio system talked about. How are we to know what to advise you or how to advise you?

EOD. I discovered the stereo plays when i off the headlight / dashboard light but malfunction when i put on the lights.

Have your electrician take out the radio, open the fascia, use rubbing alcohol or any appropriate electrical cleaner, clean it and allow to dry. He may also do same for your steering wheel control and dashboard components.

[s]Unplug your Bluetooth hands free module and see if it stops.

If it does, either replace the module or leave it disconnected altogether.

It is a common problem with his model.
