When i got the PC, i was comfortably enjoying 6hours battery back-up. In the past 1 week, I observed the battery doesn't last as long as it used to. Yesterday, the system went off at just 20+ percent. I thought twas just a one-off. Just tonight, it went off at 36%! Now, I have plugged in the charger, yet the battery reads 0%! It's been over 20mins!

I'm confused. What could be the issue? How do i rectify this problem?

The standard battery capacity for an original battery straight from HP themselves and not Alaba boys is 52wh. The trick is to run a Battery report before paying for the system. The closer the capacity is to 52wh, the likelihood of the battery giving you 4+ hours back up.

Please my laptop was infected with a root kit malware and encrypted all my files, fortunately they were files I could let go so I reformatted my laptop and restored it back to factory settings.

I then ed Avast antivirus and the antivirus is still seeing the root kit virus.

Please I need clarity. I took this PC to engineer, after checking through it, he found out that the issue is the charging IC, not the battery. He's saying changing the charging IC is a 50/50 probability. That the system might come on, it might not come on again. I'm confused.

And when it finally respond and I try to open Ms word, it shows that the control key is in use. After I won't be able to type anything again.

Try and use another battery first. If issue persist, you can follow the trusted engineer advice.

The best thing is to replace the keyboard. If you are in Lagos or close to Lagos you can bring it to my place at Ikeja for replacement

As at last month I noticed the battery life was reducing drastically.

Yesterday while I was trying to use it. I plugged it. Once it got to 5% it went off on its own.


So I tried removing the plug and plugging it back. It refused to come on. Neither was it showing any symbols to denote battery icon.

I took it back to where I bought the battery. They changed the battery, but it's still not coming on.


Is there anyone who as faced same issues?

What can I expect from this case?
