And knowing how to count pips in an instrument is the first step to understanding risk management


If I am wrong, Correct my opinion on counting pips with the relevant data that you have.

If not, do well to correct your earlier post on twenty pips stop loss in gold...

Yeah extremely difficult
Risk management does little on it if you are using small capital to trade
If you are trading naked chart the methodology use in trading currency pairs doesn't work on gold
In currency pairs most times if their is an error in entry point maybe slight invalidity that won't make the trade go right after it has sur the poi it comes back to that poi for a trader to close it with the exception of usdjpy and gbaud(this 2 hardly forgive) but gold will not come back
The huge reward it gives anytime it goes right is crazy and the way it will eat into one's capital when you are wrong is something my mindset can't take
For peace of mind I just stick with currency pairs

Be careful with correlation, it is more of relative than concurrent, though the latter happens some times.

Yeah if you are good at trading it the reward is really high
You will meet your target faster but you have to be really grounded in risk management or you will lose the at a speed faster than a bullet

Good suggestion but it doesn't always work that way

It works for pairs that are trading directly agst USD like eurusd, xauusd, gbpusd

But when you start trading crosses, if you don't understand the combination of pairs, you will run into trouble with risk mgmt

For example: if I am trading eurgbp, I need to know the price of gbpusd to calculate my lot size. Trying to work it out with price of eurgbp won't give the same results.
