In my opinion, electrical faults are more frustrating than mechanic faults in cars....That's why I can buy a vehicle with a knocked engine/gear but wouldn't come within 10 kilometres of a flooded vehicle...

Worst case with a mechanical fault is to replace the entire component, be it gear, engine or whatever.. But some electrical faults are village people on steroids.... Tears unlimited.. .

Some cars makes like Peugeot and Mercedes are more susceptible to these logic defying electrical issues, especially as they get older, compared to the Japanese vehicles..

Some Electrical faults will make you envy those trekking... A 'simple' parasitic drain of a car battery when parked overnight have led many into a bottom-less pit of expenses..

And the worst thing is that most naija car electricians will creat another or even multiple electrical faults while trying to solve one... Those guys are very good at bonanzas.. Solve one problem and get three for free

My car's day-time running lights stopped working 3 days ago so I went to an electrician to get it fixed and then walked to a nearby shop to eat. When I came back I noticed the guy had bought wires and was connecting from one end to another. I had to ask him to remove every single thing he had done while he was busy protesting blablabla.


This morning, I went to another electrician yesterday and the guy changed the bulbs without any hassles.

I already bought another gear, Brainbox also. The wires are no longer in good shape. It's very obvious so the best and lasting solution is to buy a complete wire. Now the money isn't my problem. getting a good rewire is the problem. I have overspent on that car actually.

On the same vein, I've heard of some car brands like Toyota/Honda having less electrical but more mechanical faults of major components such as engine or gear. So, which do you think is worse and more financial drain per your experience?

I prefer mechanical faults than electric faults in a car

I no talk say Volks no be sweet ride. In fact, its fuel economy is superb. I do not pray U have an electrical issue with it. U must take it to specialist who will bill you. If you risk taking it to inexperience personnel, pray it does not get worse.

no truer words than this. Volks is a sweet German car but it doesn't tolerate oga off an oga on am na horn de work am type of electrician. It requires in depth diagnosis and when I mean diagnosis you'd need to scan it. Volks too doesn't tolerate abuse, it relies on sensors. And if you must drive a volks you need to be meticulous and get ready for some DIY

Just use advance scanner or get Peugeot scanner to scan ur car... U HV to put back d brain box u remove ..
