I feel I now understand why sellers here prefer to jack up price of their items .

Imagine an item of 500k in the market , the seller here decides to sell the same for 300k and an unfortunate human being will price it for 50k and still expect the seller to bring the item to his(buyer's) door step.

Had to stop a friend of mine from selling his item to an ungrateful individual here as if the buyer is doing him a favor and my friend doesn't really need the item just because it has been lying idle for months without use before his kids damages it.

It won't be well with you lots that do this or stress a seller to come to your vicinity after initially agreeing to a price before meeting, the buyer will still want to renegotiate and will want to walk away knowing you got no choice than to agree becyif the distance you took to meet up.


If there is a way to remedy this, can someone proffer a solution?

Very easy solution - state your best/lowest price, state that the price is non-negotiable and ignore anyone that prices lower.

If you fix realistic prices, potential buyers will know and they will also know why they are being ignored when they state lower offers. No one will force you to sell lower than your price.

This model has consistently worked for me. Try it and see...
