Fiscus105:People who work in jobs that do not reflect their education level, actual training, or financial needs are said to be underemployed. In Nigerian context and based on ILO definition, geaduates who work in low paying jobs are underemployed. If we are to base the definition of underemployment using your own definition, it then means that 99% or more of Nigerians are underemployed including your current CBN Governor who is a graduate of Mechanical engineering. The same applies with almost half of the top bank executives in Nigeria and in so many other sectors. So you see ![]() 1 Like |

Rapmoney: The effect of bad leadership has trickle down to various areas of our society including our social and religious life. Everything has been monetized, that's why many men hardly engage in relationship ,and the women are complaining bitterly of men not marrying them. You can't blame the men for taking such decision, one finds it difficult to feed himself, talk more of feeding a whole family. My friends who are married are complaining bitterly, it's not easy for most people now o. 5 Likes |

It's like the only thing Nigerians talk about is marriage and relationships. Nothing innovative/creative. Anyways, there are several reasons why many young Nigerians are not in a relationship. 1. Economic hardship: The economy is not favoring young Nigerians (especially the men) at all. Many are unemployed, earning low salary, on contract or their businesses aren't doing well. Relationships cost money. 2. Entitlement mentality of Nigerian women: A lot of Nigerian women are entitled. Most see their boyfriends as their second father. They believe that they are entitled to monthly maintenance salary. In a country where the national minimum wage is N30,000, how can such men (who are the majority) afford to keep up? 3. Technology. Technology has diminished relationships amongst young people. Young people are more hooked to their laptops or phones than socializing with others. 4. Social media. Social media, which is a by-product of technology, has destroyed so many relationships. It has made women around the world more materialistic than ever before. This is not specific to Nigerians alone but a global problem. Social media promotes fake materialistic lifestyles that most people cannot sustain. Social media has led to the rise of hook up culture. 5. Too much responsibilities placed on Nigerian men due to culture. Nigerian men are told from a young age that they have to take care of their women. They are told that they are 100R% responsible for taking care of all the finances at home. With that level of responsibility, why won't men stay single? It's better to be seen as lazy, irresponsible than to die as a SIMP. So many men have died before their time due to numerous responsibilities. 1 Like |

With the numbers of lazy naija women and coded prostitutes doing hookup and short time/ long time on the rise, the number of virtuous women you can safely have a relationship with are dwindling. Nobody wants to claim a runs girl or ex runs girl/ashawo/ big girl and say that is his beloved, because once you've made that mistake thts when her observers and friends, social media and he say she say will bring up her true history "that big girl that married the governor, wasn't she the one that used to go to Dubai every month or so to replenish her funds?" Scariest thing to find out is that your babe had been wined and dined with faeces by Prince Mustapha Alhamdulilah bin laden, this is currently many Nigerian men's predicament. Nigerian women will do everything degrading for any amount of money making sense to them. The ones that will suffer the most are the attractive good women remaining, any man wooing them will be praying for the truth to come out and at the same time praying he doesn't hear one typical news flash about her, so men also avoid relationships and dating with good women (if you can't care for your basic needs and have had a sex transaction in whatever context, you aren't in the good women group im referring to, and by good women I mean beautiful women with virtue and still have clean reputations, below 3 body count etc. These women too are suffering the lack of men willing to fit their bills, sex in Nigeria is a business transaction in most cases whether from the streets or a so called gf that will leave or sleep with another man because he became broke catering to her. As with any transaction demand drops in times of economic hardship, and now even demand for prostitution has drastically decreased, women used to be bold enough to try and charge a stranger 100k b4 for one encounter, now they are cut between sticking to their delusional pride and going hungry, reducing her asking price to where the market has shifted to and right now very few will accept to pay 50k, they would rather find a cheaper alternative for 10k that looks just as good and can drain your balls. Both sex and relationships have taken the hit since, men were already beginning to conclude that most young ladies are into a form of prostitution, it just took the economy to reveal the minds of men physically. There's a global statistic saying in 2030 50% of all women 18+ will never have children or marry, this is because like Nigerian men, most men around the world are done with the majority of women, their demands and entitlements never made sense but when money was flowing men just focused on satisfying the urge, now that it's not men are realizing how many women are truly prostitutes masquerading as potential wives and gfs. I doubt that it is worse in America, but even there, the men have decided to renew their port and go overseas to countries with traditional women rather than deal with the vast number of low value sex workers (the so called normal women that aren't selling their sex in the streets). This problem is likely to get a bit steeper and women who openly it to being runs girls and prostitutes will be able to live off multiple customers, no longer will a self acclaimed good girl be able to demand for monetary gain without having to identify herself as a sex worker. Will this cause every woman not from a wealthy home to reveal their true sexual natures and all just become content with identifying as a sex worker just so the business can carry on even if they are exposed and their reputations take a hit, at least nearly every naija woman will become content with the derogatory names for their line of work, just to survive. Women of low virtue equate survival to prostitution and will not mind being truth full about her activities if it will earn her bread for another day. Meanwhile Nigerian men may follow suit with American men and start traveling abroad to find virtuous/traditional wives.
