Ok, I appreciate this a lot sir. Thank you.

So, with your rate of application (npk), how many bags of NPK did it take you to manage the 1005 stands?

Even at young stage, do you still use that same quantity per plant?

Yesterday was my harvest day, so I tried my luck again, after moving round the farm, unexpectedly, harvested another two bags. So officially 50bags.

Honestly, I thought it was over, cucumbers can really surprise you

Who knows, maybe I can still harvest something if I'm patient enough, already, I'm planning to clear them off for another project to commence.

.
About 1.5 bags.
I use little for young plants
Even when the leaves are diseased, so long as you fertilize well, spray and water u'll still harvest enof. They can try.

Very interesting, sir have you tried Starke Ayres hybrid seed of cucumber (Ashley). 40-45 days you have harvested your products and very viable. It comes in 100g and 200g will be enough for an hectare of land sir. We also deal on tomato UC, Rio, Okro, Onion, Watermelon etc
You can me on 2347034813439

One side 5cm away from the plant.

Applying round it might lead to Plant burn because of the high concentration of the fertiliser

Experienced farmers in the house, is it advisable to have cucumbers of different ages in the same field?

For example, can I divide a plot of land into four and plant every two weeks? I have noticed fungal diseases appear much later in the life cycle of cucumbers, can the older cucumbers infect the younger ones?

Thank you!

Not advisable sir. You'll be spraying without ceasing.
Best is to plant all at once on the whole plot. Same applicable to tomatoes, only pepper being perennial can withstand that.

All the best sir.

Ok sir.

If you're using my kind of spacing, half a plot can take you close to 2k stands.
You can do 1.5k stands.
So if you're watering manually, I suggest you run half of the plot.
If this is managed well, it will give you Satisfying results.

About the 100k stuff.
If it's in my area, 100k should be enough for me to do the half plot (with manual irrigation oh).

Cost of agro inputs differ from State to State. I don't know of Ogun.

The following are the basic materials you'll need;

I'll assume it's my project and put estimated prices

1. Good hybrid seeds ( consult your market to know which one is most respected)
50g- 14k
2. Enough manure. 10k+

3. At least 1 bag of 50kg NPK 15 15 15
20k+

4. Zforce 1kg, or any good fungicide
5k
5. Cabrio duo or any good systemic fungicide
9k

6. Insecticide 250ml 3k

7. Nematicide ( if your are using the land for the first time) 3.5k

8. Urea about 2 paints 5k

9. Staking rope. (poly twine). 1 bag 14k

10. Caterpillar force insecticide (for fruit quality) 100g - 3k

Total - roughly 86.5k

11. And every other inputs you find necessary to add e.g
Foliar fertilizers, other granule fertilizers... Etc

Note: additional cost, if you're buying sticks or bamboo for staking.

Additional cost, if you're employing labourers.
TosinOnofua: 3:13am On Jul 22, 2023
Please how many kg do you fertigate for urea
flowmama:

I personally think Potassium Nitrate and MGSO4 can be applied via foliar @ 1 and half spoon per knapsack and you'll see result. Just ensure you apply frequently. Aside NPK and SSP that I apply as basal,( I also fertigate urea) other ones can be applied as foliar and they work very effectively.

I have applied Calcium Ammonium Nitrate as side dressing (fertigation) like 3 times to my tomato and still had blossom end rot. Subsequent planting, I applied just 1.5 table spoon per knapsack almost every week and noticed I didn't see one case of blossom end rot. Now imagine the wastage in side dressing bags of expensive fertilizers with just using 1.5 teaspoon.

I only give them equivalent of 2gram per plant when plants are still young before 18 days max... After that the nitrogen they need they will get from either NPK or Potassium Nitrate...

Except you know how to mix urea with other high Potassium and Phosphorus fertilizer, don't apply urea after 20days max cos too much Nitrogen will make flowers abort.

All the best sir

Ok. Once flowering starts, i apply poultry manure weekly. 1-2 handful per plant. With this I harvest over 10x (I will try to get the exact number with the current batch).
.
Isnt there risk of leaching if you apply everythkng at once?

Sir, the manure must be very dry and the application must be at what distance from the plant? Any effect of this weekly manure application on bi-weekly usage of NPK? Thanks

My manure is usu mixed with sawdust. Wet or dry doesn't matter. I apply 5-7cm away from the plants. During harvest I apply manure or npk weekly. Sometimes both.

True. I have their econeem and Imiforce too.

Wow, you worked there... That's nice.
Lucky me !
I hope you don't mind answering some Questions sir.

While I am uprooting my old cucumber plants, I'm spotting these on the roots.

They look like fresh nematode attack.

So to eliminate or control them,
Is it effective to spray this neem extract on the soil ?
Econeem is fungicidal, insecticidal and nematicidal.

It will be in the soil cause it will penetrate and come in with the nematodes.
