A man man was caught on CCTV camera this morning stealing a jumbo loaf of bread, which I believe he wants to feed his family with. He was thoroughly beaten and disgraced, they had to call his wife to witness the show of shame. Some people said,he has been caught several times in the act.that he's a kleptomaniac. I feel instead of going thru that channel of lifting the loaf of bread, he should have simply asked for help from friends n relatives. I believed they would have come thru For him, and he has a respected aura. 15 Likes 5 Shares |

ahnie:That business he is stealing from is owned by someone who is also married, trying to sell those goods to feed their family.... So that's not an excuse 162 Likes 9 Shares |

It is really well...but stealing is a no no. That's the easy way out for lazy people. He could just have hustled like the next man who actually bought the bread. I would not hands to beat him or even watch him beaten, I would rather hand him the agreed consequence of his action in an agreed setting. We are a society and we already agreed on law and order. It is well.

No excuse for stealing, what if they angry people burnt him alive? Will he still be there to claim he wants to feed his hungry family?

ahnie:If a family member calls me and requests for financial assistance and it's within my ability, I'll assist, if he calls me after some weeks or months to request again, I'll still give, if he calls the 3rd time, regardless of whatever it is he's going through, once I pick the phone and hear it's money, I'll just end the call. There's a limit to which one can request for financial assistance from friends and relatives. Once you exceed that limit, they'll ghost you and ignore your calls. This is why this election was very important cos it was meant to fix a lot of wrongs in this country, but people tribalized it and we're worse than how we were. As for the married man, he has 2 functioning hands and legs, why can't he use them to work. Why steal? 36 Likes 4 Shares |

Puss360:I believe nobody should be beaten over food theft in this economy, instead they should be made to do an amount of work commensurate to the cost of the food item either for the owner or for another person who will eventually pay for the stolen food item. As long as it is food that is just enough to feed the thief or the family, there should be some leniency. If the person steals large quantity of food or other items with the intention of selling for money, he/she can then be treated like a criminal. People are going through a lot and hunger bad 31 Likes 1 Share |

ahnie:He is a kleptomaniac or he is a hungry man looking to feed his family because kleptomania is a mental illness and can be treated but a hungry man whose family is starving has a need for the food he steals. ![]() |

You have hands and legs. You can't work, You can't borrow, You can't beg, But you can steal. Very wrong. However, no matter the condition. No one should be beaten for stealing a loaf of bread. No one. Bread is the most basic of things. Na condition cause am. 1 Like |

descarado: And they’ll claim they confessed. Confessed what? Someone you can clearly see is mentally unstable. This one I’ve even heard of from an older lady I used to respect and she was talking about how the Bible said “suffer not the witch to live”. I shuddered. It’s not ignorance. It’s pure core wickedness 3 Likes 1 Share |

Jman06: I this wholly It's quite insensitive of Nigerians to beat, worse still, burn a man who only steals food to feed his hungry family under this very bad government. People should try as much as possible to help one another, at least, since they have decided not to confront the evil government and her satanic policies. 5 Likes 1 Share |
