This your comment shows you don't know anything about cyber security, by the way do you have a degree in computer science? Let me tell you, don't comment on issues you don't know. Google the name Marcus Hutchins. This is a guru in cyber security without any form of certificate or degree, he is notable for stopping the global ransomware called WannaCry. And it will shock you to know that WannaCry was coded by Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi, always research before you comment. Finally I want you to know that the IBM X-force team are hackers without certificate or degree in computer science.
Bro na u need research.
Hush puppy is not an hacker or programmer.
Wannacry was never developed by an average Joe or individual programmer but by us intelligence.
Naso u na go dey lie.
The IT field is not easy for entry level but easier for experienced..when you start just know your will have to hustle. However with years of experience you go dey ball.
Most times many of us dont have that patience and it is understandable. Feeding, survival and co.
In the coming years alot of people are going to loose their jobs to tech. If you are wise you will start venturing Into the tech career you jobs represents.

Cyber security is your best bet when it comes to choosing the best career path in technology.
When some people hear the word cyber security what comes into their mind is how to develop antivirus or firewall software and you must be a programmer before you can qualify for a job role in cyber security, but are these assumptions true? the answer is capital no. Cyber security is one of the easiest career to pursue in technology, you don't need a degree to work as a cyber security person, what you need is just the right skills, unlike other jobs in which without certificate you cannot work, no cyber security is not like that, infact despite no certificate is needed you cannot see a quack in cyber security that is working like in other sectors, it is self regulatory, your skills will speak for you, and you cannot be in cyber security and be poor.
ADVANTAGES OF CAREER IN CYBER SECURITY
1. Remote or physical job opportunities.
2. You can own your own business or be employed by organizations.
3. Start up your own business at a very small cost.
4. Earn big salaries.
5. Opportunity to work for multiple companies simultaneously.
6. Work with little or no knowledge of coding/programming.
7. You don't need a degree. Only your skill is needed.
8. You will be a respected hacker etc.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Cyber security have so many branches but I will give job description about two branches I love and I have also worked in for a long time. The two branches are (i)Bug bounty hunting, (ii)Cyber threat intelligence.
BUG BOUNTY HUNTING
This is the area of cyber security in which you work from anywhere in the world, and your job is to find how a computer, website, database, CCTV, iot etc, can be hacked or manipulated for fraud and you are paid immediately or in a few days, in this job the more bugs/vulnerabilities you submit the more your pay, the least bug/vulnerability is priced at $200. Your employment is 100 percent guaranteed.
CYBER THREAT INTELLIGENCE
In this area your job is to get intelligence on cyber criminals for the purpose of knowing there tools and attack methods. This is a very good career path, you can be an expert witness in a case, or you can be hired by an organization to investigate a cyber attack.

Wanna cry was a malware written by both Korean state sponsored hackers who were working with hush puppy and big daddy ( another Canadian fraudster ) who both were employed by them to provide drop s. s which can receive and transfer big sums of money without much bank interference or suspicion
It wasn’t only wanna cry , there was the Indian atm job and the Malta bank job and the Bangladeshi central bank job
This thread is deceptive. Cyber security has a very steep learning curve like every other IT path. What will it cost you to be truthful about this? Or are you up to something? You're looking for people to teach a skill that you don't even know? You're not able to make any earnings yourself and decided to start scamming people?
Bug bounty is not an easy process neither is any other method of earning money as a cyber security expert
Firstly, Hutchins is an exception, he stopped a global cyber threat which is a feat not any random Joe can achieve and uhm, he completed community college which a form of a higher education.
"... WannaCry was coded by Hushpupi" kindly share your source.
Every member of the IBM Xforce have some form of academic degree. It's apparent that the one that's not up-to-date is you sir.
Lastly, Let me put it this way. I'm not saying you need a degree to be an expert. What I'm saying is, a degree is the bare minimum for any organization to even consider you for a role or trust you with their network. You guys need to stop selling this "you don't need a degree to enter this IT field"
I still stand on the fact the Cybersecurity is NOT an entry-level role. It'll take you years of experience to be an expert.
God bless you for this response brother mi.
Na so them dey litter social media with this kind of lies to deceive people into buying useless cyber security courses. When you finish the useless course, package your CV and start applying for jobs, na their you go know say cybersecurity no be for entry level.

A good thread/topic.I’m a cybersecurity professional myself with one of the biggest banks in SA. I can confirm it’s a very lucrative and high demand forte. However, it requires a lot of foundational hands-on and analytical skills to venture into. Something you don’t acquire overnight. OP mentioned bug bounty, that’s like grey box testing and it’s not for rookies. Long story short, it’s worthwhile and rewarding but you do require defined skills sets to thrive in it, ranging from pentest skills like footprinting, invasive skills (results from your enumeration) and you decide to be on the blue team then you need to learn defensive skills and tool usage. Good write up OP

You are right brother mi.
The bug bounty is not even for the inexperienced. It is just like a babalawo asking you to help him solve his spiritual problem and for you to do that, you self must be babalawo raise to power 10.
The problem I have with cyber security is that getting jobs overseas isn't easy because companies that deal in cyber security prefer to employ their citizens because they deal with matters of national security.

I have friends here in the United Kingdom who are struggling to get an entry-level job in cybersecurity even after having a master’s degree in cybersecurity. Just like some people have said, it’s very difficult to see an entry-level job in cybersecurity because most of these multinational companies need someone with experience. I will advise one to start with data analysis or data science which has more direct entry jobs, unlike cybersecurity.
God bless you for this response brother mi.
