I think he is saying this from his own point of view but not to discourage others. The truth is experience is the best teacher but last last things everybody will be alright.
The naked truth is once you enter youkay,it might be rough at the beginning for few months if you dont come with enough raba to start with especially with these useless agents that issue CoS with promise of work after collecting huge raba and ended up not giving you shift .
That is the norms now whether we like it or not because i'm still battling this issue.
Imagine bringing in over 15 people from different African countries(Nigerians inclusive) and telling them that you are still looking for contract to sign to give them shift after they have all been in the youkay for close to 2 months. It is well.

People that come in and start work immediately find it eazy in youkay and will never complain at all.

i know someone that brought more than 50 pple... home office don suspend the licence last week.....the guy never had intention to run the licence or give any shift or pay PAYE tax...he don jappa comot for uk seff after making more than 500k£ ontop pple's desperation to enter UK....

Anyway No be their fault...Home office too like money dey give scammers platform to rob job seekers.... employer wey never run care operation with more than a few clients and needing more staff to manage should not be given sponsor licence...

@advanceDNA, Please is it possible to not work with the Company that Issued COS? And Work Somewhere else? and not have any issues in the future? Like Paying Taxes from a Different Employer entirely, other than the one who issued COS?

Again, if one entered the UK with a Skilled Worker Visa (Care Worker)? Is it Possible to do other Jobs, other than Care Jobs? ( e.g , Security…etc) and not have any problem with ILR in the future? (Emphasis on I.L.R)

U can work else where..but u just have to be sponsored by the new employer that will now be paying ur tax weda its a care job or not......meaning u must update ur visa

.if u are moving to another job code...u visa must be updated and the new employer must sponsor..so no issues in future

Let me just be frank with , recruiting carer from nigeria is getting more and more difficult by the days cos employer will naturally prefer to recruit from those within uk before looking abroad .
Even those are in uk are not getting the job on the platter of gold anymore like before as employer are now even asking for 1-2 years uk experience .You will be surprised that alot of nigerian that just arive in uk are not even getting the carer job like before and there are still a huge backlog of student that have already finished their study and hoping to use the carer route to get skilled visa and majority are yet to get such opportunities
So advice I will give people in nigeria is to look for other pathway so that u won't be wasting your time, carer pathway is as good as over, it will soon be taken off from the shortage occupation list .

If you are mental health nurse, you have a higher chance of getting job, infact dem go Rush you. It's also not easy for adult nurses, then redlist issue too is there ( there are actually alot of nursing jobs but most of them are handled by recruitment agencies and they are not allowed to recruit from redlist country). That doesn't mean you can't get job but it's very difficult. I know some ppl that there CBT and IELTS are about to expire and still haven't gotten an interview. With luck and prayers!!!

If you have all your documents, start your visa application now, book your biometrics, pay your visa fee and all your documents. This way, you're covered.

If you do not have all your documents, the ones you have, then pay for assisted service on the day of your biometrics to what is left.

If your CoS and/or Proof of English proficiency is/are not ready, then you may to take another TB Test

TB test can also be done at Q-life. It’s even cheaper. Doesn’t have to be IOM only.

That was too harsh abeg, you did not come in peace one bit, you should have pointed to the person to go to first, which is what I normally do as majority of the answers are there or simply ignore. we applied for a work visa from Nigeria in august 2022 ..in September the COS was out we applied for the visa in October and went for the bio metrics in the same October which for the main applicant was priority which is suppose to be out in 5 biz days..so we waited for weeks and we didn't get no response from them..3 weeks later we got a response asking for additional information which we provided...now we have to wait again since mid November till December 6 before we got another email saying the application was refused because they think we are trying to deceive them with one of our document. And i was so sure we didn't give any bad document..so i the working place where we worked and got out reference letter from...they said they ed them and they gave them the right response and then again to the school we went and the mix up was from the school where she did her 18month course...now we got the letter from the school and filled for istrative review.....its past 20days now that we have submitted the letter and write them about the whole issue we havent heard back from them and again i want to ask and know whats the assurance of getting the visa since we already knew where the issue came from and gotten a letter from them to back it up....

It is not easy for those in care and worker roles but I am about changing employers as mine is within the field of Psychology as there are many NHS openings coming up daily
