What is wrong? Selling a name you don't own? Yes! I absolutely agree it's wrong, but that's not [/b]the case here.....I keep on saying this and none of you can bring a rebuttal. How do you even sell a name you don't own? If you're to provide the Auth/EPP code, will you then string some characters together? Some of you don't know their right from left but only follow the bandwagon! Prazo1: |

A. You see a fine domain name that you don't reg, but you inform end-(s) that the name is available. This is fine and is called humanitarian work. ![]() Is it sustainable? No ![]() B. You see a fine domain name that you reg, and you inform end-(s) that the name is available. This is why we're here and is called domain flipping/investment. Is it sustainable? If it weren't, we wouldn't be here! C. You see a "fine domain name" that you're not sure whether to reg or not, but you want to stylishly elicit interest from end-(s) in hopes that someone will say "How much?" and you will sharperly go and reg the domain. This is desperate gambling, which is foolish for many reasons (some have been previously stated): i. Savvy end-s don't click links; they either type the domain into their browsers (to see whether it'll resolve) or visit GoDaddy (to see whether the domain is truly ). ii. Listing domains you don't own on marketplaces is illegal and unethical. Put yourself in the shoes of a marketplace: would you want your reputation sullied by "yahoo domainers"? iii. How will end-s take us serious if this gambling becomes the norm? If you received a similar email and you discovered that the domain was actually available—the "marketer" was only trying to gauge your simple-mindedness—how would you feel? iv. How are you sure you'll even get a response? Legit outbound domainers know how difficult getting end-s to reply is; hence, basing one's strategy on gambling is unsustainable on the long run. v. What if after compiling emails (no easy work), outbounding to those emails (even harder), and following up on several occasions, an end- expresses desire to "acquire your domain" and you scream "Voila!", only to find that "your domain" was ed yesterday by someone else (ED dey slow to update sometimes o)? Domains is this category should be merely watchlisted until you make up your mind to either reg or keep watching. Domaining is an ocean that no domainer can exhaust. So, why is difficult to just sit your ass down and try to learn the basics of this craft for long-term benefit? 10 Likes 1 Share |

SALES ALERT Summerlin/Home/For/Sale in king SP: $599 HT: about 6 months ED Picked Outbounded to new set of leads. With reference to the argument about outbounding a name you don't own. IMHO, this is wrong in every sense of it. I'll use this sale as a case study. I just got a new set of leads and started outbounding afresh. The end- who bought this replied to my first email asking how much and I quoted my price. I didn't get any response from her or anything through out that day till the next day when I saw Dan's congratulatory message. The end- actually went to search for the domain on Godaddy and bought it straight from there. No questions asked. Now imagine I didn't own the domain and was waiting to get a response from the end-, she would have discovered that the domain was actually available for hand-reg and would most likely have labeled me a Scam(Fraud). Calling this Gambling is like trying to give it some kind of legitimacy, but what is wrong is wrong. Make we no use our own hand spoil business for ourselves. Hope say my tori no too long sha. Call a spade a spade. #MoreSalesToUsAll #Grace. 38 Likes 3 Shares |

Let me scoop out the hypocrisy from you all. Haven't many people sold names here and the end happens to be the former owner of the name? When you realise he owns it before, while don't you just drop the name or tell him Mr man, go and reclaim your ![]() When it suit you, its grace, when it doesn't, its fraud. 2 Likes |

YoobaNesan: Oga, in a quest to make this forum lively, come up with good topic to discuss. Not this trash. Like one of the bosses said, Go to namepros and create a topic regarding this, then give them reasons why it's not fraud. |
YoobaNesan: 8:42pm On Jun 06, 2023 |
Who are those on namepros? Fellow domainers like you and I. Why are you placing them on some pedestal?.... they'll also have different opinions like you and I. "When you realise he owns it before, while don't you just drop the name or tell him Mr man, go and reclaim your name....but No, you negotiate a price and make a sale." If you can establish for me the above is fraud, then I'll agree that what he did was fraud. James39: |

YoobaNesan: Your argument de off the point. You de do business na. As long as the former owner allow the name expire. you ed it and ask him to pay. It's business. If your name expire, even Godaddy go auction am. you no steal the domain na. But in the case of pitching an uned name to him, and negotiating price when you no be domain registrar, hmmn. Abeg, I no get strength for all this. Make we no prolong this thread unnecessarily. |

YoobaNesan: From all your argument, you making it feel as you're criminally minded. Why on earth will you such evil act. Even the domain tasting you're talking about is when you paid for a domain maybe out of excitement and you now realised that it is not what you want. Then you decided to drop it. That is quite different from outbound a domain you didn't own. Please refrain from this your fraudulent practice that you're advocating, IT IS BAD for your image. Thanks |
