pocohantas: Lol. Which cave, tell me where avocado is common in Nigeria. Ask NL's if they have ever heard about Avocado before. The few places avocado is common in Nigeria is mostly the mall and mart which is a bit expensive because we don't produce it locally..... |

helinues: Lol. The people around you that haven't seen AVOCADO. I bet it would take them another generation to see strawberries and plum! 2 Likes |

For every 2 or 3 families in igboland, there must be one avocado tree in their compound. That's how popular it is. Ube oyibo. Growing up, we know which families has the big sweet and juicy one and those that have bitter and watery ones. I can only pair avocado with bread or eat it with nothing. Parents hardly buy it as market gift for their kids cos its everywhere. We know a lot about avocado that mere looking at one, you can distinguish if it's the sweet, bitter, watery , big seed and small seed type. During the season, enter any local market and see loads of ripe avocado in the bin area. Our only problem with fruits is that we don't know how to use it to make anything. We simply eat them raw seasonally. 6 Likes 2 Shares |
