Hard copy of completed online application form.

Letter of application containing the details of the loss incident

Lost port’s police report extract.

Report from the Fire Service (in case it is lost in a fire outbreak).

Sworn affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court (for deposed port).

Proof of payment.

Two (2) port photographs (colour).

Applicant should provide port Number of lost port.

If the date given to you is not too long, I will advise you wait till then

These people have mood swing and they can push your file somewhere it will be difficult to locate

I'm not saying you should not go before the appointed date but it will be better if you go on the appointed date

Some people paid as much as 60k to 85k to so called agent but still waited till around 8pm before they captured while some were unable to capture due to error in the data

To make it soft, arrive as early as possible and keep like extra 1k for hand.

They will call you for verification, interview and all that.l then you will be prepared for capturing

Prepare your mind to spend the whole day at the place, some family member who submitted their document the same time got different capturing session, wife capture around 1pm while husband captured at past 8pm so just be prepared

All I shared here is 100% personal experience as I followed someone to the place last week & today

Good evening everyone, please who knows what month they’re producing in Alausa…. Is there anyone that captured in march and has collected port?

I’m going to need my port really soon, want to know if I should wait till the collection date or go earlier to find a way to sort it.

I'm really glad that I took your advice to go back today. Got to the front office before 8:30 am and my file was processed immediately by the officer. Took it for NIN verification and I was very delayed, collected it back around 1pm. The officer kept asking me to come back. I did all the other necessities and I finally captured around 7:30pm, my batch was the last. The only money I paid was #500 that I dashed one of them when he told me to come back for my file after 4hrs, I got it in just 20 minutes. I also paid 1k when I wanted to capture and the man said my shirt can't work and I had to rent one jacket like that.

It was tiring but I believe it's worth it. Most people who didn't apply online too and paid agents just captured like 2,3 hrs earlier than we did.

I was asked to come back after 3 months, but I think I'll just go by July ending instead.

My 20-year-old nephew is temporarily staying with me. This is his port tracking this morning (5 May 2023). He applied online in March 2023, and he selected 24 May 2023 for biometric or capturing at Ikeja (Alausa) port office. With the newly introduced NIN verification fee of 1000 Naira, NIS can now port applicants' NIN before they appear for biometric or capturing. The NIN service, fees and the new NIS process went live on 1st April 2023. The internet is there for you. Do your research diligently.

I was and am still concerned for the OP's plight, I hope he makes necessary correction before his appointment day. I still stand on my view, there’s disparity between the data provided on the OP's port application form and NIN, hence the "X” mark.

My nephew didn't pay the mandatory NIN verification fee because he did not apply on or after 1st April 2023, his NIN will be verified when he captures and the box will either be marked X or ✓.
