The Department of State Services has raised the alarm that there were plans by some elements to cause unrest in the country.

This is coming two weeks after a similar alert was raised advising political players to abide by the rules of engagement as well as approach the court for redress if and where there were suspicions of infractions on extant electoral laws.

In a statement on Saturday by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, the agency said while some political players had sought redress in court, others were making inciting statements.

It partly read, “The Department of State Services, again, alerts the public of plans to violently disrupt peace in the country. The service hereby warns those desperate to cause a breakdown of law and order to desist from that.

“It is evident that some aggrieved politicians are already taking advantage of this legal process. This, without a doubt, is the beauty of democracy. It is strongly believed that this approach enhances peace and security. All and sundry should cherish it.”

Afunanya warned that those disseminating fake news to pitch the citizens against the present or incoming istrations should stop.

He added the service would not allow the country to descend into a state of anarchy.

“Be that as it may, the DSS will not tolerate a situation where persons and/or groups take laws into their hands and champion anarchy.

“Those peddling fake news, hate speech, and all forms of false narratives as basis to ignite violence or pit the people against the present or incoming istrations, at the federal, state, and parliamentary levels, should stop forthwith.

“Those inciting violence have nothing to gain as doing so will not only consume them but also the innocent. It is otherwise disturbing to see respected personalities use their platforms to mislead or incite citizens. This, to say the least, does not augur well for peaceful coexistence and general order.”

IPOB needs to be tamed once and for all. They are planning to hijack the protest of Obidients.

Never has an election in Nigeria brought such anger. Even Buhari who was a serial court customer after each presidential election never vrought widespread anger and disdain as Tinubu who supposedly won the presidential election.

INEC chairman made a huge mistake. Since Tinubu won by roughly 2m votes, Yakubu Mahmood should have listened to the grievances, sorted then amicably and still declared Tinubu as winner. But ordering all the complainants to go to court was quite arrogant. And to cap it off, he sneaked in at about 4am to declare the the winner.

Professor Jega carried himself with more dignity than Mahmood. He, Mahmood, is a big reason people distrust the process.

As for the DSS (actually SSS) , let me not speak my mind. Hopefully this organisation is purified in the days to come.

After asking Peter Obi to go to court, Tinubu and APC won't want to face him at the Court. They would rather incite violence so they can burn all the courts and divert the plans.

But mc oluomo and bayo onanuga are still walking freely after threatening bonafide citizens of Nigeria. That means we’re also free to do as we please. The law is not meant to keep some people in check while it favors some good for nothing bigots and touts.
