Did anyone apply to any of this schools.Cameron university and Michigan university of technology? I need an info about them

Hello everyone,

I got an offer for a Ms in Global Affairs with full tuition scholarship plus stipends at the University of Notre Dame.

Can i go along with my spouse? We intend to get married in few months.

Also, how much should we budget to show as proof of funds as a dependent applying for F2 Visa?

Lastly, is it advisable for me to go first then she s in few months time?

Sorry for my questions, I am a novice in this stuff and really want to avoid mistakes.

Send an email to the graduate coordinator of your program. Did you speak to a potential supervisor before applying ? You can as well send an email to the person inquiring an update on your application.

I sent an inquiry mail to the Graduate Program director of my program, he replied that since I have not received an offer from them, it means no faculty could offer me a TA/RA.

I actually ed professors in the department and they responded they do not have openings. It seems KSU only its you when a faculty has accepted you as their student. Well, I applied for PhD, it might be different for MS applicants.

PhD. I applied to three schools actually. All of them are saying that they will start rolling out decisions very soon. These guys know how to reply diplomatically.

I am beginning to think that positive decisions have been sent out already.

Yea but she still encouraged me to apply and mention her name in my SOP but she can't guarantee me a position yet.

Congratulations on your offer!
Hope you know that F2 are not allowed to work legally.
You can ask your school for an estimated cost to bring a dependent and also, she is still your girlfriend and before she can be regarded as your dependent both of you must have been officially married.
You can go first and ask her to come later so that you can use her as a family tie.
Anyway, these are what I have read from previous threads. You can wait for the gurus to put you through

So you’re not legally married? I’m not sure that she can ride on your F1 status if you’re not legally married.
Also VO is going to give you guys a hard time because your ND stipend only covers your living expenses.. not for 2 people.

Is your program funded by Open Society Institute/George Soros Foundation?

Yes, i emailed some of the faculty but i didn't establish any tangible relationship. I have already sent all the emails out to these program coordinators and graduate offices. Today is March 5 and there is no decision at all. At this point, what will be will surely be. Goodluck to us.

He said they only had 6 slots and they received over 35 applications.

He said they’ll continue to review applications as there are available funding and will let those who are on waiting list know if they’re itted with funding accordingly.

A friend of mine in the school said they even stopped giving ission without funding as previous applicants that were itted without funding abandoned their program.

To everyone waiting for their decision. Be patient and don't use high blood pressure to injure yourself. There's till time till April 15 for decisions to roll in.

I must say you have a very good rapport with that program coordinator. Do keep in touch with him/her. You can also be checking out Australia if you know your profile can be competitive enough.

You can't do anything.. No hope if you can't answer the security questions...

Assistantship can be gotten anywhere in the school, including
Library
Deans offices
Bursary department
IT office
Media
Tutorial Unit
Labs
Student hostels
And the list goes on and on

Look for the career listing page of your school, then narrow to GA.

Because some people might consider non-stem courses a waste of time especially as an international student in the US. HR is a non-stem course, but it has decent career prospects to me. And I never get funding o. I keep in touch with the department in case any assistanship position is vacant so I can apply.

You will.get job in the US school does not matter it is you that matters beside with PhD you have pleeeeeenty things lined especially if you are in STEM.
